Time to upgrade

My current specs:
Athlon XP 2100+
2x512 kingston cheap ram
geforce 4400 (what a trooper)

I played through Doom 3 with acceptable fps and it didn't look too bad
I play EQ2 and SWG and it runs fine with not everything turned off
CS:S and get decent fps with low settings.

The thing still runs, and runs most games pretty well I have to say.
But I'm on my computer like 10 hrs a day at least, and I've been waiting for all this stuff to come out and the right time to upgrade. I think that day has come.

So here's what I'm looking at:

CPU $ 160 A64 3000+ (939) 90nm may go 3200, not sure if I need the 10x multi
MOBO $ 169 DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D FO SHO
RAM $ 158 Geil Value 2x512mb Value ram is value ram is value ram...I think
GPU $ 438 GF6800 GT 256mb PCX Pretty sure on this, I love ati but oh well
HDD $ 181 74GB 10K Raptor will 10k make much more noise than 7200?
CASE $ 82 Super Lanboy or $100 Tsunami Dream or $90 Aerocool Spiral Galaxies
PS $ 87 Fortron 500W Blue Storm Cheapest of Quality PS for potential SLI?

Lemme know if you see any glaring errors, not interested in "I like ati" or "Super Lanboy looks dumb". I'm looking for cold hard facts, benchmarked, tested, proven (even from a biased website Do you think EMI shielding from Galaxies really make a difference in my living room? near the microwave? at a massive lanparty? I care about sound, was thinking of XP-120 and any other fan replacements to quiet this thing down. Suggestions?
last but not least I do intent to overclock a little bit, probably not push to the edge, but a little nudge at least. Lemme know what you folks think and thanks.

You can save money by using an ide drive. Very little difference in performance.

Winnie's are winnie's....they all prity much OC to the same extent. 3000+ or the 3200+ are very similar on price to performance (top two in a 50 CPU shoot out. Covered in a 'Custom PC' mag I get down here)

The Nforce4 or the winnie don't mind what it is (If it's PC3200, then they are happy)

Go for a brand named PSU. with a nice amp outage on both 12v rails

The raptors are very noisy when on full wack. Sacfrice performance for noise.

I thought Fortron WAS a brand name PSU and I've bought into the 1 strong rail better than 2, although i don't really know why.

So a 7200 IDE not noticably different from 7200 SATA? Better value?
