Picked up the full version yesterday after playing plenty of the demo. So far so good. Lotsa classes and class combos you can choose.......which is one of the challenges. As is choosing skills.....which ones to take, advance and which ones to leave alone. I've started with a Theurgist in part 'cause I played one in DAoC. But this guy is much different than the DAoC one. Still not sure I want to play this class.

One thing that I like here better than D2 is that there seems to be less zerging from the enemy. In D2 the AI would challenge you by throwing a bazillion enemy at you at once. There seems to be less of that here.

The Theurgist in here is like the necro from DAoC, and just as overpowered

I finally picked my second skill tree last night and chose nature, the level 1 heal is enough to fill my Liche and myself up for very little energy.

Ahhhh, another Theurgist. So where are you putting your attribute and skill points? Which skill are you using the most? Are you putting points in anything but Intelligence and Energy?

Yeah, I agree that nature would be a good complement to spirit. I think I'm at level 6 now so I haven't quite looked at other trees yet.

I put alot into my Liche and alot in my Spirit Mastery, I got that skill where the Liche does a PBAoE lifetap and it keeps him near full.

I warn you though that if you do spec in your Liche he can get overpowered really easy. Not uncommon for me to walk in a cave and my Liche has already killed everything that comes at me before I can get a shot off.

LOL! I wonder if the testers balanced things properly. I read something similar on the IGN boards......can't remember the details but something about summoning three wolves and all the guy does is pick through the loot after the wolves do their business.

So far I am enjoying it. It seems as though there are some multiplayer kinks to work out. Random disconnects and lag for some people.

The class balance is kind of fun. I am enjoying the grind thus far. I can see where some of the negativity comes from - the items do not seem quite as balanced or thought out as in D2. The UI is decent, but it is kind of weird to know whom you are targetting. I think if they added a glow or silhouette around your target, that would help a lot.

Still, I would rate this as the best diablo clone to date so far.

It seems to me, beacuse of the targetting woes, that pet classes have an advantage at this point.

Got that Lich King fired up......very necessary IMO. So much respawning riff-raff in the game......the Lich King makes quick work of it.

Does this game have an online service similar to battle.net realm games? Or is it sort of like a TCP-IP?

Played it for about an hour last night. It's okay but I'm not sure I'll stick with it. A little too repetative for me.

What's the deal with the save system? You can save the game but it seems like there's only one save slot and then the have those fountains that also act like a save point.

Very similar to Diablo 2. Basically it saves your progress and when you reenter the game it's at your last previous fountain. If you die you lose some experience but you don't need to loot your body like D2 to get your gold back. Which is a good think if you happend to get killed in the middle of a bad overmatched fight which can happen in D2.

I wonder if we can set up a multiplayer game and trade items, I have a few set pieces I'd trade for something different. Got a cool +1 to all rogue skills necklace today, but I'm a caster :/

Multiplayer is really buggy and virtually useless for more than 2 players. Randomly booting you out, unable to connect at times, weird lag fests. It's really not ready for prime time at this point, IMO.

Finally got to play the demo yesterday. Played for about 1.25 hours. I just met up with the Spartan guys in the war camp.

I'm not sure how much longer I have in the demo but I'll definitely beat it then possibly start again with a different character (currently doing a rogue/hunter type guy, kinda weak).

I think I'll hold off for a few months for them to work on the multiplayer. Battle.net is easily the reason D2 is so fvcking good to this day still. Also this would give them a chance to tweak skills and items (there was way too much useless weapons, I know that happens in D2, but this was just absurd). After all this time they still patched D2 up pretty well, tweaking and adding things as they went.

So I will definitely pick this up if I hear good things about the multiplayer and it gets big and popular. But as of now I don't think I would.

Just got the DVD version today,so far pretty good game, stability seems better without AA on so I left AA disabled.

Diablo 2 clone type game for sure, not tried the multi player version yet.Game has a patch in the near future so should not be a long wait.

reviewers said to use the AA in your control panel and turn it off in the game. I turned it off in game and it runs much better, my Nv control panel handles it just fine.

picked it up on saturday. pretty cool i guess. i wish there was a town storage box like diablo 2 had. kid of sucks having to carry stuff you want to save with that limited inventory. i'm lvl 11 now and i did get my 1st extra bag but still.

i went nature and earth. too bad you can change your masteries. i wouldn't mind playing around a bit to see what each one is like.

the wolf summon in nature was nice at 1st but now he just dies too quickly and doesn't seem to do any damage. the core dweller is pretty sweet though.

i'm thinking maybe i should have gone 1 melee mastery and 1 magic, but i dunno.

This is better than D2 as far as single player is concerned. I'm closing in on the end-game and it's been a blast. Great environments, variety of baddies, nice mix of rare equipment finds among the riff-raff and a good storyline. GOTY so far for me. It's a clone but so is everything else these days.

I'm about done with GREECE so far. I've found some great items, and collected a good number of runes so far.
I have roughly 3-4 'green' items and some 2-3 'blue' items.

Also, I found a purple bow (forget the name of it, Chiton?) which is a quest item but I have no idea who to speak to.

anyways, i'm hooked on it.. I will try the Multiplayer section after I pass the game. I hope it's as addicting as D2's hehe

danny~!

i haven't really tried mp yet but it doesn't look like there's anything to stop people who hacked their characters . from what i could tell, you play mp with your sp characters.
