Gotta say, I didn't expect to like this game as much as I do, but I keep finding myself going to play it instead of BF2, Oblivion or others. Glad to see it's got several chapters.
I think the titan will replenish his life from them if you give him the chance.Originally posted by: pontifex
the end boss is extremely easy for me. kind of a let down considering how there's regular mobs just as tough as he is and some other bosses that are stronger.
also, are those pillars of the gods supposed to do anything? i noticed you can destroy them.

destroy those then fight him.
also there are epic bosses in epic that make Typhon look like a chump. Talos for instance can one shot you.

anyone know of a good site that has item information, like sets etc? Kind of like D2: http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/
? I have received a lot of green and blue items, too many actually.

I the trcik to kicking this games ass is to use epic and legendary greens with runes. they trump all blues and most purps.
I also ended up with ton of uber caster purps, too bad I'm melee.

Danny, check this out

it's a utility that lets you store extra gear in an offline vault so you can transfer it to other characters. Easily the best thing ever to come out for Titan Quest

I'm about halfway through the game, as far as I can tell. I don't know if I can beat it.
It's not that its too hard...it's just getting rather boring. The game is just too damn long, but more importantly, its just sloppy.
Instead of a tight, focused game, it just overwhelms you with MORE MORE MORE of everything. My character has barely changed in the past 10 hours.
I figured out long ago that you will be far more powerful spreading out your skills, since 1 point in everything seems to be more powerful that focusing your character. So I managed to get all the skills I would ever use, a long time ago. Now its just a matter of trying to decide where to put those points. No anticipation for that new skill, I just get a wee bit more powerful, and don't really have anything to strive for. So while it sounds good on paper, the freeform mastery/skills system doesn't make it very exciting over the long term in practice. The way I play now is the way I'll play forever...all 40 hours till the end. If it was half as long, I'd at least take solace in the fact that I could roll a few characters.
The loot in this game is absurd. Every other item is a yellow item. Its to the point where I don't even bother picking anything up anymore, because it takes me longer to sort through loot than it does to actually find something useful. And it's been like this from the start. In diablo, even yellows were rare enough that getting one was worthwhile. Now its green/blue, or nothing. Not to mention once you find a green/blue item, it will last you a VERY long time. Loot is one of the main reasons to play games like this, and since that system seems to be mostly broken due to overkill.
The story is fairly absurd. There's no real drama in it, no reason that youre doing what youre doing. At least diablo felt like there was a goal - kill diablo. This is just...I dunno, kill monsters, listen to bad accented actors whine, etc...
The graphics, and sound are excellent. The animation is amazing. The base gameplay is as interesting as diablo ever was.
I so wanted to love this game. The first couple hours were great. The only thing keeping me playing now is the desire to see the great environments the artists created, and just a general sense of finishing what I started. I cringed a little when I heard part of the game would be in egypt, because deserts arent exactly the most exciting environments...theyre, I dunno....deserted? There is nothing I hate more in a game than filler. After the labyrinth at the end of greece, I knew that was what I was in for for the rest of the way, as if there was any doubt before that.
Less frequent, more meaningful loot, a focused skill system that didnt let you rush ahead to the top skills, and the same varied environments crammed into half the game, would have made it absolutely excellent. The sad thing is, those changes could practically be made in a day...makes me wonder if anyone actually played the game before they released it.

by level 50 I have ran out of things to put skill points into, the rest of the skills just don't appeal to me.
BTW, I'm Warfare/Nature, which isn't a bad combo. One thing I noticed though is that as soon as I put a shield on my rate of attack went up to 181% from 171% and my attack went from 743 to 841, why can I hit for more and faster one handed?
I also got my first uber purp melee weapon and I'm pimpin it, 10% chance it stuns the mob for 3 seconds I'll try and post a pick later.
here are the specs
Demeter's Sorrow
143-167 Damage
Speed: Average
15% Chance of +112% Cold Damage
22-39 Cold Damage
17 Reduced Resistance For 2 Seconds
10% Chance of 3 Seconds of Freeze
+25 Dexterity
+20% Attack Speed
Required Dexterity: 127
Required Strength: 398
