I'm running 2 x 512 HyoerX pc3500 @ 2-2-2-6 with 2.7v

One stick is warm ... but the other one is positively toasty, it feels HOT to the touch ... guessing the temp to be in the mid-40 C range ---> Edit that: its about 52 C !

Is this something I should be worried about?

CPU/AGP/PCI 160:66:33
PSB533
VDimm: 2.7
CAS: 2-2-2-5

Update:

I plugged in 4 x 512 HyoerX pc3500 in double dual channel, they're all at different temps

33c (Case temp), 36c, 43c, 50c

prime95 has been running for over 4 hours, no probs
ran memtest for 14 hours, no probs there either

yeh ... guess its gonna be RMA-ed

i dont think i need 4 x 512mb = 2gb of hyperX, so one goes to best buy and its sibling goes to the FS/T forum

Hmm... interesting post. I have 2 sticks of HyperX 3500 as well and they are burning hot too! It seems to be stable, though i'm only running them at 354. I couldn't get them stable at anything > 412 on my 8ik1100. I wonder if heat's the prob (but I am running only 2.5V!)

I figgered it out

chips marked 9905200-019.A00 heat up significantly more than those marked with 011.

ran test with 2 chips marked 019 and 2 with 011 - the 011s stayed a lot cooler than the 019s, 019 is the latest revision

According to a thread at OCforums there's an "A02" version out that is the latest revision.

What's the highest voltage that these RAMs can take? I got the HyperX PC3000 Two 512MB sticks. They are hot too. Revision A.00. You are running at 3.02V. I hope it does not burn dude.

My HyperX 3500 is rated 2.6V. I figure, no higher than 2.9V but I have seen higher voltages posted before. I run mine 2.85. I suppose so long as you are stable to long term Memtest and/or MemoryGold you're OK

could bumping your voltage up cause your HD to become corrupted ive just formated 2x in a row both times when i bumped the voltage up to 2.65 to test for stability i was gonna go above stock speeds if it was stable but it keeps corrupting my windows install =/

im back to my normal overclock 3.25ghz with 5:4 divider 250/200 (so the hyperX is actually underspec)

I overclocked to an extreme 494Mhz once - and it completely killed my Winblows XP installation. That's why I only did it once.

120 mm fan directly on them, but they are not even warm without the fan . And "GO BACK" has fixed all my mistakes with overclockin

With "GO BACK", you go back in time, 1 hour , 2 days, 3days. Whenever your system was running right. And
you can revert it. I have corrupted the harddrive twice lately with overclocking too much. I went back 2 days, when the system was running good(using GO BACK, which is on Norton's systemswork 2003), and it is running perfect and I didn't have to reformat.

I usually just ghost my drive as a backup just before I'm going to be futzing around with my system.
