Brilliant. Skunks spray to defend themselves. If you've ever seen a skunk in person it won't spray unless you statle it. Approaching cautiously and putting food in the cage would not scare it at all.

Skunks don't wait until you're on top of them to spray.

Thanks, I guess you're the resident skunkologist. Oh I've only lived with skunks in my back yard my entire life, I wouldn't know how they behave.

QFT... I was in Lexington, VA during a trip to Natural Bridge a couple of weeks ago. We came out of a restaurant turned the corner towards the parking lot and a skunk waddles his happy butt right across my path. I stopped dead. Grabbed the 2 people with me from walking towards it. He saw us crossed the road and kept on trucking.

However if I had it in a cage and was jostling the cage, I suspect his attitude might have been different.

I caught a skunk in a keep -alive- trap at my house. This was on accident. I called animal control and they came and picked it right up. Your idea was a good one........ dont see why people would call the poe poe on that. Shizznit happens....

However, if animal control refused to take it, I would have tried the blanket idea first.

What did you do with the dead skunk floating in your pool? Let it stay there? Throw it over the fence into your neighbors yard? Eat it? Where's the proof you REALLY did any of this?? Online, people talk alot of BS........ for all we know, you kept it as a pet......

I've had a skunk approach our house in the broad daylight before-not normal behavior, probably had rabies. Was I going to take the chance that it would bite our dogs, or our neighbor? Heck no, I grabbed one of our shotguns and shot it through a window.

For all I know the guy doesn't have a gun, so he killed it the best way he knew how.
