Then he shouldn't have given the skunk so much damn sleeping pills and hauled it off himself. I just can't stand it when animals are abused. Most people wouldn't even be able to take all that and he gave it to a tiny skunk? Bullsh!t.

Sorry, that just makes me really mad.

That or this...

If you really did this you should be arrested and charged with cruelty to animals

Or Nik, not that I care; animal cruelty is not cool. However, I would prefer hearing that some of you wishing Bush was killed by the grenade got a visit.

Last time I checked, wasn't OD'ing on sleeping pills the "easy painless way" to commit suicide? You just go to sleep and not wake up. So what he should have shot it instead?

Nah, the cruelty part is where he drugged it AFTER he already had it trapped. Trap it, take it off the property, and release it like the law says you're supposed to in California. Not trap it, drug it, release it next to the pool, let it drown, etc.

they are nongame mammals, so i believe he was allowed to kill it if he felt that it was threatening his property

WHAT?!

Did you fvcking read the excerpt from the Fish and Game laws up there?

The California Fish and Game Code classifies skunks as nongame mammals. Nongame mammals that are injuring or threatening property may be taken by the owner or tenant of the premises at any time and in any legal manner. Fish and Game regulations prohibit the relocation of skunks and other wildlife without written permission of the Department of Fish and Game. The prevalence of rabies in the skunk population is one of several major reasons for denying relocation. For further information on the legal status of skunks, contact the California Department of Fish and Game.

Of course I read it. Did you read the sentence above it?

Of course I did. Do you not understand the meaning of 'taken' now?

Taken=killed.

NIK - is your mom a smoker, cocaine addict, or has taken too many shots of crystal meth which is proven to cause birth defect and ultimately resulted in your stupidity and lack of common sense?

This is true.

So which part did you lie about? Were you lying when you said it walked off? Or were you lying when you said that you let it drown in the pool?

1) it walked out of the cage
2) it walked around the house and into the pool
3) I pulled it out with a net within 30 seconds
4) it was gone the next morning

You're completely ignoring the issue and it's obvious that you are. Did it drown in the pool like you said it did, or did you watch it walk away like you said it did?

When did I say I watched it walk away? I mean it walked away when I released it, but it went to the pool and I pulled it out. After that I left it alone until morning at which time it was gone.

So did it come back later and drown? Were you lying about standing there and doing nothing while watching it drown in your pool?

Personally I wouldn't exactly jump in the pool to stop it from drowning,
I'd go grab the pool scoop which is exactly what he did and then retrieve it.

Maybe "watching it drown" while getting the scoopper he fished it out with?

I wouldn't go that. I'd just say his reading comprehension today is less adept than usual.

I can see how something like that would make you wanna step away though.

2 investigators came by and questioned me. They had a printout of the ATOT thread. They said they have reported it to the city attorney's office and humane society.

Some kind words from the mods changed my mind... I am not leaving, just taking a break for a while.

WTH!!? investigators from where?

Edit: We gave him a bunch of sleeping pills with some cat food. He got pretty drowsy so I opened up the cage. He stumbled out and started walking around. He found the pool and decided to go for a swim. Jumped in, swam around a bit, and then drowned.

Goodbye my smelly friend

OMG.. You deserve its fate ArmenK! Good bye.

No... I have never said that pills = "legal manner". I said that pills <> cruelty and provided an arguement to back that up as pills are used by people who consciously decided to take their own line.

However, you specifically stated "Trap it, take it off the property, and release it like the law says you're supposed to in California." which IS in DIRECT opposition to the law already quoted. Thus we are questioning your reading comprehension... I know that's a big word, do you want us to explain it to you?

Just because at first he thought it might have drowned, then later it had left his premises does not mean he's a liar.

You're trying to argue something you don't understand the timeline of at all.

1.) he found skunk; trapped it (or it was trapped I'm not sure of this point)
2.) sedated it to try and release
3.) skunk walked over to pool by itself when released (nowhere in any of his posts did he say he tried to drown it or anything as you try to insinuate)
4.) pulled skunk from pool
5.) he >thought< it may have drowned
6.) later it was gone thus must not have drowned

how is that hard to understand?

The city attorney's office has better things to do as per it wasn't cruel or torture. The human society can't do alot either, they may make life annoying for awhile.

I'd grab the pool scooper thingy too. However, I wouldn't post pictures about it and a thread asking how to kill it. Neither would I then suddenly go looking for the pool-scooper-thingy out of good will to save it's life before it drown. Yeah right. The OP knew exactly what he was doing and he killed it in an inhumane way. Oh, and before you ask, I don't agree with the "humane society" places that suffocate animals to death. That's not humane either.

Well technically, someone COULD harass you by having the police investigate you for nothing.

Imagine if I didn't like you so I called the police and told them that I saw a suspicious driver. You'd get pulled over for nothing. It's stressful, it wastes your time, and it was all for nothing.

I'm not sure if he started thread to ask how to kill, I think it was to ask what to do with it. And as far as we know, we don't even know if it's dead. Drowned animals don't just get up and walk away.
