G.SKILL Phoenix Pro Series FM-25S2S-120GBP2 2.5" 120GB: $186.99

OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD3-2VTX120G 3.5" 120GB: $189.00

Feel free to add to the list... I think it's going to be the Vertex 2 128GB for myself. Anyone know the difference between these two Vertex drives?

The first uses a Sandforce Controller.

The second uses an Indilux Controller and is older by a year or two.

The time is right for an SSD. Right now, you'll pay only $1 per GB on refurbished Crucial RealSSD products. Solid-State technology is an ideal alternative for netbook and notebook storage. No moving parts provides for quieter, cooler, and more durable solutions to traditional hard disk drives. And at $1 per GB on our refurbished models, there's no reason to wait! Offer good while supplies last. Offer starts Nov. 26 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time and ends Nov. 30 2010.

256 GB for $256 | 128 GB for $128 | 64GB for $64

I gues this would be fairly hot, assuming you can get one... they went very fast last time.

This is @ crucial's site.

I got in on the Crucial deal last time. $128 for 128 gigs is a steal. Love it in my laptop.

Crucial canceled my April 12th ssd order. $1/gig refurb seemed much hotter then. 30 day warranty on their refurbs is not so hot.

looks like those deals are only OK. $1.5/GB for premium controller ssds are average deals now. I think Fry's has a 120GB Patriot Inferno for $140AR tomorrow.

So far outside the $60 60GB Gskill SSD I haven't seen anything "hot". Was waiting but seems like it was in vain...
This.

Been itching for an SSD for a couple years now, but I want 80 GB minimum and refuse to pay more than $100 for it. I really thought this BF would be the time, but looks like I'll be waiting another six months for the next gen drives to push prices down further.

While the prices aren't scorching, they aren't bad and are cheaper than they have been lately. At least for the 120 GB Phoenix Pro drive. Add in no rebate.

The C300 series from Crucial at $1/gb is great too. My only concern is the warranty aspect. I'm kind of torn on it TBH. I want the C300 (or Corsair Force series), but warranty on a refurb makes me wary. The Phoenix Pro is most likely what I'll end up getting.

The crucial refurb deal is for the older indilix based drives, NOT the C-300 drives. Its even stated on the BF deal page.

knowing this, I would rather buy a new sandforce based drive or C300

Indilinx drives are still pretty fast, though, definitely worth $1/GB IMO. Perfect for laptops, netbooks, stuff like that. Although I probably would spend a bit more to get a SandForce drive for a high performance desktop.
