I'm playing on normal and my class (the female ranged class) seems to be doing pretty well. I haven't run into much that hits hard, but on some enemies, it seems that my weapons are pretty weak. I have a unique gun that is friggin awesome with stats, but I think I need to give it up to get a better damaging weapon.

This game is a testing ground and way to finance the MMO version that will be out in the next year or two. No one will play your mmo if there's multi in the single-player version.

I started with the Berserker on Hard (or very hard can't remember) and it's going pretty well. The combats are challenging and bosses are mostly tough.

As far as items goes, it's weird how they managed the DPS and such. I have a level 10 1 handed axe that does 106 DPS and I found a level 11 1 handed axe that does 246 DPS...

But it's ok, I won't complain!

My Berserker used a Level 8 Sword with 324 DPS. Had two sockets and every damage type on it

So much of my money goes on the Enchanter in town. Need over 18,000 gold to enchant my Unique Sword... Slowest attack speed but its DPS is unrivaled and makes for some devastating Criticals with certain special attacks.

Level 21 Berserker now on Dungeon Level 22 of Very Hard mode. Going well indeed

EDIT: Beware of the Enchanter. He stole EVERY single enchantment off my Berserker Set Axe

Any good sites for Berserker builds? I'm really enjoying this. Also, Elcs, is the enchanter warning because of a bug?

I doubt theres any sites up but I find that Titan Stomp + Frost Shield are made of win and Shadow Archer to top it off is very useful.

Titan Stomp - AoE Damage + Stun + Knockback

Frost Shield - Physical & Elemental damage reduction + Damage Reflect + Knockback Resistance

Shadow Archer - Pitiful Ranged Damage but +Damage% buff (I do believe that works on skills too)

Enchanter

Yeah, Titan Stomp is really nice and I like, mostly as a Boss Killer, the Rend something skill (can't remember exact name).

Just found a Level 18 Gold - Tesla's Rail Cannon.... 440 DPS.

12 Health Per Hit
3 Mana Per Hit
70 Physical Damage
+4 Critical Hit Chance

Guess who is going to put that in his shared storage for his Vanquisher?

Mythos freakin' rocked. And that was in closed beta! Damn what happened to it but I'm glad the team formed Runic.

I loved those guys in Mythos also. That game was great, too bad the developers went under.

I took a look at Torchlight last night and it SEEMS to be very very similar to FATE.

It is possible but not an option through the menus. You have to mod it to be possible, I'm guessing through an ini file value. I definitely remember reading a developer's comment that said they added it in.

No idea.

It is worth buying equipment from stores. Half of my equipment at level 23 is shop-bought. They also sell Set Items in there occasionally so keep an eye out!

Enchants - I would wait until you have a truly special piece of equipment or something that has pretty good base stats but has a low base level. Enhancing special equipment just makes it more special unless you get really unlucky. Enhancing the low level stuff is very cheap and can be very beneficial.

The most expensive piece I can enchant is 22,000 gold, give or take. Enhancing a lower level item can cost 300 gold. I used a level 8 pair of boots until recently because they had good base mods and I enchanted them several times.

For the destroyer guy, is dual wield even worth it or is it better to use a single weapon? Right now I have a 2 handed weapon that does more damage than my two single handed weapons and I feel bad for putting points into dual wield.

I never tried dual wield but on Very Hard, even with a good sword/shield and strong armour, I feel as though it is almost non-existant. Just hit character level 23 and dungeon level 24.

Very Hard feels like a struggle all the way through... hard but enjoyably so.

wait what? you can do that?

not sure if I want to at this point yet, but it might be an idea for the future.

My Vanquisher is like level 11 now and I've got 10 points into ranged mastery, 1 in ricochet, and like 7 in the skill that adds to your critical hit chance.

Not sure if I should be branching out or what. Kind of sucks not having very many skills to use. I'm doing fine so far, not real issues except when I bought a portal scroll that took me to lvl 14 enemies when I was like level 9 or 10. they kicked my ass.

Well, I heard from several sources that a certain command from the console can re-set your skill tree. So I went digging deeper and I'm getting nothing. What I did find was not guaranteed to work, so I didn't bother trying it. I also heard that there's some kind of potion in game that allows re-spec but I think that's BS. Sorry to lead to an unsubstantiated hope (for now).

This game is addictive. I played for 10 minutes yesterday and all i could think about was going back home and playing again. I played for about an hour last night after work. I then played for like 4 hours today before work. This game is fun!
