Damn I kind of like this guy now.

He's just like the majority of any other major politician, except he doesn't lie! Basically he is Jim Carrey from Liar Liar but a politician instead of a lawyer.

That's another show's worth of material for all the comedies and news networks out there.

You really haven't been keeping up...

Edit: Saw CNN and CBC interviews. All this talk about being a "regular guy", not a "rich elite" and they run off the names of top lawyers in the country hired by them... Both must be narcissists -- not a psychologist.

You know what? Many poor (lesser developed) Countries over the world have always looked up to Canada for guidance or assistance in many areas of society. Canadians should be ashamed of this man who has tarnished their good name.

Many on these forums love to take a dump on lesser developed Countries but how much of a moral high ground do they really hold when you think about it.

LOL.

What countries might those be?

EDIT: And for the record, I love Canada. Took the whole family there last weekend and dropped a good chunk of change into the economy.

But Canada is pretty low-profile in its global image. Good Samaritan, and all that...

Not with harper and baird, unfortunately.

Yes, they're trying to act like the US of A minus 9/10 of the population and military and a fraction of the military expenditures.

Ford's still got a pretty good chance of being re-elected. The "left" in Canada would rather split their 60% of total votes up across multiple left leaning parties over relatively minor differences than unite against the one far out to the right.

oh God this guy is unbelievable. This idiot first insinuates a reporter doing his job is a paedophile, gets threatened with libel suit, apologises half hearty then his lawyer managed to get him to sign a proper retraction and apology to avoid lawsuit, then he drops this gem.

http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/1...m-a-couple-thousand-bucks-and-they-are-happy/

Rob Ford offered husbands everywhere some dubious Christmas gift-buying advice Thursday: “Women love money. Give ‘em a couple thousand bucks and they are happy.”
Ford made the statement on his weekly appearance on the Washington sports radio show, The Sports Junkies.
The mayor said he follows his own advice when it comes to Christmas with his wife.
“At the end of the day, she wants her cash, so I give her a nice cheque and we’re all happy,” Ford said about his little-seen wife, Renata Ford. He said he would also buy dresses and perfume on top of the money and other “treats.”

Renata Ford is rarely seen in the media, although she notably became part of an international story last month after her husband made comments about their oral sex life while denying he made sexually explicit comments to a female staffer.
Other comments about women have gotten Ford into hot water in the past. Earlier this year, his offer to “explain how politics works” to women was greeted with outrage.
Rob Ford invited the radio hosts to visit Toronto and recommended they eat at Harbour Sixty Streakhouse, where a New York strip steak will set you back $60.

The interview, generally set around Ford’s NFL picks (where he’s quite astute actually), briefly skirted into politics, although it was his dancing that the hosts really wanted to talk about.
“I like Bob Marley. I like dancing. I like having a good time,” Ford said when asked about city council’s awkward boogie earlier this week.
Ford’s brother, Councillor Doug Ford, also likes to give away money. He was accused of “vote buying” last week when he was filmed giving away $20 bills in community housing building in north-west Toronto. Ford said he didn’t have time to go to Tim Hortons to pick up gift cards and since he doesn’t plan on running in the next municipal election it was a no harm, no foul situation.
The Fords, who like to portray themselves as “everyman” Torontonians, are multimillionaires from their family company Deco Labels, which they inherited from their father. Doug Ford gave his brother a Cadillac Escalade (roughly $63,000 at the lowest end) as a birthday gift last year.

Mayor Ford has already apologized nearly a half-dozen times this week for other slips of the tongue. He apologized twice to the Toronto Star‘s Daniel Dale after the reporter filed a libel notice for comments made in a television interview with Conrad Black. Dale dropped the lawsuit Wednesday night.
In a written statement, Ford said to Dale: “I should not have said what I did, and I wholly retract my statements and apologize to Mr. Dale without reservation for what I said.”
The reporter said Ford insinuated he was a pedophile during his interview with Black on The Zoomer.
ZoomerMedia said Wednesday they would never again broadcast the mayor’s comments in that interview.

Naw, no chance in hell. His remaining cheerleaders aren't the voting type, and motivated downtown residents like myself will be careful in selecting the candidate with the best opportunity to win.

We're a ways out yet, but I like Karen Stintz (hardly a leftist) as a prime candidate. I don't care for Olivia Chow in the slightest, but if polls show her at the top I'll send my vote her way to get the win confirmed. We can only go up from here!

You work on getting rid of Ford and I'll work on Frank Scarpitti.

lulz, and he just can't stay out of trouble. The man who said he quit drinking is filmed drunk ...

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/01/21/rob-fords-drunken-jamaican-english-laced-rant-translated/

On Monday, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was videotaped in a bizarre exchange at a Toronto fast food restaurant that is notable not only for the mayor’s drunkenness, but for his liberal use of Jamaican English.
Through careful analysis of the audio — and translation via sources in Jamaica — the National Post presents this approximate transcript of Mr. Ford’s exchange with an unknown citizen, along with explanations.
FORD: C**ksuckers. Fuckin’ Chief Blair and them all. Cha, man. They chase me around for five months, man. Bumbaclot man. I said, me and him, ya raasclat bumbaclot.
In this opening diatribe against Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair, Mr. Ford uses no less than three expressions common to Jamaica, but virtually unknown among Canadian-born English speakers. The first, “cha,” is a disdainful expletive, the Caribbean equivalent of “bah!”
Related

The other two are more obscene, what our Jamaican translator called “indecent language.” The first, “raasclat,” is a deeply offensive term that refers to a rag used to wipe one’s buttocks after defecation. As slang lexographer Jonathan Green explained in a 2011 online post, “raas by itself means the buttocks, and by extension the whole person.”
The second, “bumbaclot,” is said to be Jamaican equivalent of “f*ck” or Quebec’s “tabernac.” The word also refers to a rag, but usually one used to absorb menstrual blood. Most notably, it is mentioned in the song “Oh Bumbo Klaat” on the 1981 Peter Tosh album Wanted Dread and Alive.
FORD: Leave me alone, man. They got five months man, and then trying to tell me ‘well, we’re counter-surveilling the guy.’ You know what I mean? He’s hiding here, I’m’a hide here. I’m’a—oh, we don’t—f*ck off.
Here, Mr. Ford is recounting a five month period in 2013 when he was under police surveillance in connection with a much larger “guns and gangs” probe by the Toronto Police. Ultimately, it was via this probe that Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair was able to confirm the existence of a video purporting to show Mr. Ford smoking crack cocaine, indirectly leading to the November city council vote that stripped Mr. Ford of most of his mayoral powers.
FORD: You know how much money that costs, man? I said bro, just cut something, ‘no man, no money man.’ Cha. Ah, Bumbaclot, man. I said ‘you know what? You raasclat, bumbaclot. I swear to God, man, honestly man. Serious shit, man. Serious shit, bro.
Mr. Ford appears to be reiterating his previous claim that the Toronto Police only put him under surveillance due to a personal vendetta sparked by Mr. Ford’s calls for the department to cut its budget. As he said in a December interview, “I want to save money and I guess [Chief Blair] disagrees with that.” The mayor also spices up his language with four more uses of Jamaican English. It is worth noting that this is the first time Mr. Ford has ever been seen to inject his public speech with Jamaican expressions, or even exhibit any knowledge of Jamaican English.
CITIZEN: All we know is we got the best mayor in the world right here.
FORD: No, seriously, you know …
CITIZEN: “This guy deserves to be even better than Prime Minister Harper.
[At this point, the two talk over each other]
CITIZEN: Harper is the guy who is fucking up. I always tell them go become the Prime Minister of Canada.
FORD: No, no, no, no. I don’t bullsh*t, you know? I’m a straight up guy, you know?
As he faced down near-unanimous condemnation from polite Canadian society over the last few months, Mr. Ford has never had a problem bumping into civilians to assure him he’s on the right track. Indeed, it is exchanges like the above that have most likely buoyed Mr. Ford’s indomitable confidence that he will win reelection in October.
FORD SPEAKING ALONE: Who goes into THC? Who’s going into Jamestown, Jane and Finch and then Malvern on the—them fucks—you know what I see, manbro? Shit like …
In a textbook Freudian slip, Mr. Ford says he “goes into THC.” THC, of course, is the active ingredient in marijuana. More likely, however, Mr. Ford is referring to TCH, Toronto Community Housing. Mr. Ford has frequently portrayed himself as a “hands-on” chief executive, and this sentiment was on full display last September when he publicly toured a TCH-owned building to listen to complaints from residents.
The mayor also appears to be playing up his everyman reputation by mentioning Jamestown, Jane and Finch and Malvern, all of them low-income, high-crime Toronto areas.

Miami I bet. You have to launder money somewhere, and Miami was built on it.

no, I think they are legit money. His brother and him inherited the business his father built. He is basically a trust fund brat.
