Fucker likes to pretend he is an average joe, and then let slip on US radio he has like six condos in Florida...

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/0...-ford-says-he-has-like-six-condos-in-florida/

No, no, no. It's not about the money...

He's a regular Joe because he has issues with alcohol and drugs, has no respect for authority or social norms, likes to be his own man, grossly overweight, and...

Well, it must be that because he makes in a year more than I'll make in a lifetime.

lulz, Ford was uninvited to a party, he gate crashes, then leaves when they were criticizing him.

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/0...t-him-at-then-leaves-when-speech-trashes-him/

Rob Ford was forced to take a seat at the back of a glitzy business dinner Monday night that organizers claim he was uninvited to — and then left 30 minutes later when the Toronto Region Board of Trade’s president gave a speech that lambasted the beleaguered mayor.
However, the mayor’s office says he wasn’t crashing the party. After Ford left the annual dinner, his Twitter feed fired off what seems like a sarcastic message thanking organizers for the “personal” invite and posting a picture of the invitation.
The Board says the invitation was sent in error two months ago and it left a message with Ford’s staff saying he was uninvited. Scott Brownrigg, director of public affairs, said they felt it disingenuous to have him there, considering the organization has called on him to take a leave following his crack cocaine scandal.
Brownrigg said the letter was sent unintentionally, that the mayor never RSVP’d and that he left a voicemail at the mayor’s office informing him that he was not invited.
When the mayor arrived at the ballroom dinner for more than 1,300 guests at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, he was greeted with several glaring suggestions that he was not welcome.
The dinner brochure featured Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly — who assumed many of Ford’s powers in November — and Ford could not be found on any seating charts for the event.
“When I got to the door, they didn’t have my name anywhere. It was something else,” Ford told the Toronto Sun. “I saw the deputy mayor’s name there.”

Board president and CEO Carol Wilding gave a speech that tore into the mayor, yet never named him directly, blaming “distractions” in political leadership in Toronto.
Wilding called on leaders to unite residents.
“But regrettably, we were, and remain, preoccupied with the question of leadership within the Region. And talk on the street is all about perception,” she said.
The perception is that the region took a step backward in 2013, she said, with too many distractions, “all of which you are familiar with.”
Councillor Doug Ford defended his brother Tuesday and said Wilding is playing a “political game.”
“What the Board of Trade should be doing is working with all politicians. Carol Wilding decided not to. She’s turning this into a little political game of hers,” said Councillor Ford, who suggested board of trade members should review her leadership.
He called the episode “embarrassing” and said he received several text messages from dinner guests offering the mayor a seat at their table.
The Toronto Region Board of Trade, which called for Ford to step down following Toronto police announcing they had the infamous crack video, says that it continues to stand by that call.
“Toronto Region Board of Trade believes that under current circumstances it is in the best interests of the City of Toronto for Mayor Ford to take a leave of absence until the situation is resolved. The Mayor of the city must put Toronto first,” the statement said.
The invitation tweeted by Ford is dated November 11, 10 days after the Board of Trade asked him to step aside. Organizers told media the invitation was sent in error and the mayor’s staff was informed at a later date.
Earlier Monday, Ford gave a tough-talking budget speech and promised to deliver $50-million in savings to city council, but refused to share details with the councillors who would be voting on such measures. He gave the speech while wearing a Denver Broncos football jersey. Scarborough’s Orlando Franklin plays for the Broncos, who will be appearing in the Super Bowl this weekend.
The mayor said he couldn’t trust the councillors when the majority of them voted in favour of stripping him of his many of his powers two months ago.
“Once bit, twice shy,” said Ford. “And I’ve been bitten pretty hard.”
He added that councillors would just laugh at him if he shared his ideas for the budget and that he doesn’t expect them to get anywhere. Budget meetings are due to take place Wednesday and Thurdsay.
On Monday, the Economic Club of Canada announced it was refunding everyone who attended Ford’s speech last week. The speech was delayed almost an hour after the mayor got stuck in an elevator. The speech came just days after Ford’s latest inebriated rant was filmed, showing him cursing in a Jamaican accent about Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair.

Councillor Ford also defended the administration’s decision to keep its proposed $50-million in budget savings secret until the eleventh hour, but deflected questions about who drove Mayor Ford after his rambling, inebriated episode at Steak Queen. The mayor said his return to drinking that night, after promises that he had quit, was a “minor setback”. He was there with Alexander Lisi, a friend and one-time driver who is charged with drug trafficking and and extortion for alleged attempts to coerce gang members to hand over the so called crack video.
Shortly after the Steak Queen video surface, Doug Ford denied the mayor was back to drinking.
“I truly believed, I truly believed, without talking to him, without seeing it, that he had stopped drinking,” he told reporters Tuesday. “Obviously you know the story after that.”
He then accused the mayor of harbouring a bias against Mayor Ford.
“You always want to go after him personally… guys, you want to get personal, I want to talk about the budget. And we’re going to talk about the budget. How the rest of the council is disrespecting the taxpayers of this city. They want to increase taxes on the backs of hardworking Torontonians.”

he's a moron, but he's entertaining. Best moment was at that press conference when they asked him about the aid who accused him asking to perform cunnilingus on her. When he said "I'm happily married, and have plenty to eat at home" and just walked away like a boss I laughed my ass off.

I'd have a beer with him he seems like a riot.

He just got a ticket for being drunk in public and jaywalking in Vancouver. He said something like "what? I thought you were more laid back on the west coast than this..."

Dumbass just said he will never attend Pride Parade. Genius doesn't know mayors have to show up to major city events that bring in money...

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/0...ob-fords-decision-to-skip-pride-parade-again/

Mayor Rob Ford’s refusal to attend the gay Pride parade is being branded as “thinly veiled homophobia” — a characterization denied by Councillor Doug Ford, who himself said he doesn’t want to see “buck naked men running down the street.”
The councillor repeated the “buck naked men” line at least five times in his defence of his brother Thursday, a clear indication that it was not an off-the-cuff quip, but a strategy.
Mayor Ford has never attended the colourful summer festival as chief magistrate, using the excuse that he usually goes up to his family cottage that weekend. On Wednesday, however, he stated that he simply doesn’t want to go.
This year, Toronto hosts World Pride, a larger event that celebrates the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community and which could draw as many as 2-million people to the city.
“I’m not going to go to the Pride parade,” Mayor Ford said at an mayoral event at the Scarborough U of T campus. “I’ve never been to a Pride parade. I can’t change who I am.”
Councillor Shelley Carroll said that position, along with his opposition to using tax dollars to fund Pride, amounts to “thinly veiled homophobia.” She compared him to Russian president Vladimir Putin.
“This isn’t going to be a local embarrassment, this is going to be an international problem,” she said of his refusal to attend World Pride. “That we have a mayor that is vocal and resolute, I’m not going to change, I don’t attend events that celebrate the LGBT community… It’s very similar to the embarrassment that Putin is causing his nation and the international hatred towards him.”
Kevin Beaulieu, executive director of Pride Toronto, suggested the mayor’s attitude toward the gay community is more than just “thinly veiled.”
The group has not yet invited the mayor to Pride and isn’t sure it wants to, said Mr. Beaulieu, pointing to comments reportedly made by the mayor on the so-called crack video, and his more recent description of Chief Bill Blair as a “beautiful being” during an inebriated rant at Steak Queen in Etobicoke. “It’s very troubling that the mayor of a city would make comments that really would embolden any homophobia or transphobia,” said Mr. Beaulieu.
Tyler Anderson/National Post A man kisses a cardboard cutout of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford during the official flag raising ceremony to mark Pride Week in Toronto, Ontario, Monday, June 25, 2012. The mayor did not attend the ceremony that took place on the podium green roof of city hall.

But Councillor Doug Ford said the mayor isn’t homophobic. He said he supports the gay community and has friends who are gay, but it’s his choice if he doesn’t want to attend.
“I spoke to some folks in the gay community and they said they weren’t going because they didn’t like the idea of men running, middle aged men with pot bellies, running down the street buck naked,” he told reporters at city hall. “Let me tell you something, I brought my kids down there, and I wouldn’t bring my kids back when there was buck naked men running down the street. I’m not dissing anyone in the gay community, there’s a lot of great people that make up this city in the gay community, which are friends of mine. But, no, do I condone men running down the middle of Yonge Street buck naked? Aboslutely not.”
He said if revellers want to clothe themselves, he is all for it. “I’ll support it.”

Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly, meanwhile, says he will be attending the Pride parade. He called the mayor’s comments “regrettable.”
“But I think the leadership of this council is going to be in complete support of this event and we should do everything we can to make sure Toronto and all of its communities, the gay community in particular, shows themselves off to the world in the best possible light,” he said.

for whatever reason, I was thinking about this the other day: that it's a shame Farley isn't around any more to spoof this guy. They are the same damn person!

Toronto doesn't have anything written into its policies regarding how to get rid of people like Ford.

You're being a bit too kind to the electorate -- a sizeable portion of which still supposedly supports him.

htf is this dude still mayor?

He kind of is and he kind of isn't. Council stripped him of nearly his entire budget and appointed it to the deputy mayor. Council also stripped him of every power they had the right to and assigned to to the deputy mayor.

Some things he still retains though. He still holds the power to declare something an emergency, like the ice storm in Canada in December that knocked out power for swaths of people for anywhere from 2-10 days.

Sounds like with these recent revelations he's going to step away and go to rehab temporarily. His brother held a press conference and showed another round of crocodile tears about the situation. He'll likely be back right before the election reaches it's final stages, so he can play the reformed card and not have enough time to fuck up again.
