Trouble setting up home network

I have two computers. One has XP Home, the other has XP Pro. They are connected together by a router, which is also hooked up to my Xbox, but I don't think that matters for this. I have run the Network Setup Wizard countless times; but all I manage to do is get this: Picture

It looks the same for both computers, except one has "Office Computer" displayed, and the other has "Study Computer" displayed.

I really want to get this to work...help!

You can view the other computer if you go to entire network and then Microsoft windows network. You will see whatever workgroup you specified and once you click on that you will see the computer names of your pc's. Then it's just a matter of sharing whatever you want from each pc so when you click on the name of the pc you will see the shares.

Leave the poor wizard at rest and configure your Network manually.

I did that, and it took a long time to go through each screen, and when I got to Microsoft Windows Network, this comes up:

Edit: This was to Sax. I will try those links, Jack.

Double edit: Ok, wierd...this only happens on the computer with XP Pro on it. The other computer goes through the Entire Network->Microsoft Windows Network->MS Home thing with narry a freeze or pause...and I see both computers, but can only acess itself, the XP Home computer. It says that is doesn't have access privileges to look at the XP Pro computer.

And the XP Pro computer still can't do anything. Blah.

Turn off Zone Alarm while playing with the network. It can get in the way if it's not configured properly.

Then go into each one and manually set them to the wame Workgroup (use your last name, initials, whatever)

That's really all it should take.

post an ipconfig /all of both computers. We'll see if they should be communicating. Also, do you have passwords set for the user accounts?

Read over Jack's suggestion again (go to his page), take your time and you will find everything you need. And stop running the network wizard, it does more harm than good.

make another account on both computer for network access (if you dont want to make them administrators, you may have to change your security policies) and type \\ then the IP of the other computer (in run), if they can see each other, a login-type window will come up...this allows you to view all shared documents on the computer youre connecting to, to avoid repeating this process every time, you should be able to make a shortcut to that folder on your desktop (or anywhere else)....your router should allow you to both be connected at the same time
