We're really at a loss here. I bought a laptop for our small AC company, and one of the things we need to do is to use Carrier's product registration form, found here: http://www.registration.carrier.com/product_registration/RegistrationForm.aspx?b=c , which doesn't seem to work on this computer. There is no apparent reason. I suspect that it's a problem with the Javascript code that populates the images, several fields, and the drop-down lists. I suggest this as the affected elements are all initialized inside of <script> tags.
Since it affects multiple browsers, my mind jumps to a hardware issue, possibly CPU or RAM, but we haven't noticed anything else. I have not run any diagnostic software on it, but I do have an Ubuntu 10.04 disc at home.
Symptoms:
Many of the resources on the page are empty. The image at the top of the page is missing, several of the bits of flavor text are missing, and the "country" list isn't populated, as well as being way bigger than it is on the other computers.
Diagnosis Information:
It is a Dell Vostro 1400 with a 1.4Ghz C2D, 2GB RAM, running Windows Vista, fully updated. We've tried IE and Firefox both, and neither work. The laptop is sitting next to a Desktop that does not experience these issues, equipped with a Conroe-L Celeron (420?), 2GB RAM, nForce 630i Chipset, and also running Windows Vista. There is an HP Desktop in the next room that is quite new, running Windows 7, that also experiences no issues.
You guys are awesome, and I know I'll get at least some responses that aren't, "Whaaaaa?", so thanks in advance.
