Trouble with dual monitors

Ok, I have been using 2 monitors off and on for a while now.
Through traveling, i have been tearing down my setup and been using one for a while. I decided to set my 2nd monitor back up today.

basically i have always used to view my irc window, and winamp playlist while im in a game on my CRT. it never gave me trouble. now as soon as a start a game, (any game) everything in my 2nd screen shifts over to the right.

some of my icons that were on the left side of the desktop go to the right monitor.

My desktop res is 1600*1200. and i play most of my games at 1024*768. It looks like the desktop is switching to 10*7... therefore pushing my icons over. The only time it has worked the way i wanted, was if i ran the game at 1600*1200.

any ideas?

I have always had this working correctly, but it just isn't cooperating now.

Also i have installed the program windowsblinds. could that have anything to do with it?

What are your specs? OS? Video card(s)? What multi-monitor mode are you using?

found out my problem.
for some reason in windows, if you want your 2nd monitor to stay like it was when you join a game, you have to put it on the left side... not the right.

on the left it works perfectly. this is using dual view mode btw
