If it works fine when its warm, but doesn't work when it's cold, it's certainly possible that there is a bad connection somewhere. If it's a solder joint, then you're kind of SOL except for replacing the part, but it could be a removable component. Try reseating everything inside the case (cards, DIMMs, cables, etc.).
