There's nothing weird about it.This weird obsession with Stewart running for president is amusing. Not to mention Stewart himself said he would not be interested. What a stupid timeline we are in.
Lots of people would want a mirror image of Trump. An actually smart, empathetic non-politician with natural charisma, who could do very well with people who might otherwise stay home or vote for a shitbag like Trump.
Turnout is how you win an election.
36.1% of eligible voters sat out in 2024. Would a Jon Stewart pull what Harris pulled, and an extra 2% of eligible voters who would have stayed home?
Maybe. If so, that's the election.
That said, he's said multiple times that he won't run, but it doesn't stop people from daydreaming about it.
