what's crazy is that 1000 pairs at $399 sold out immediately for $399k (i promise my math is correct on this one)

i wish i could run this kind of grift just once, i'd be set for life in a day or two.

But you gotta factor in the $2 a pair he paid to have them made in China. So he only really made probably $397,000. AND BOY ARE THEY FUCKIN UGLY. The only reason any MAGA would wear them is because Trump "made them" I'm confused by the 5 stars on the flag, I know you couldn't fit 50 but what does 5 even symbolize? I'm a sneakerhead and even if they were $20 these fuckers would still be overpriced. They look spray painted, and poorly at that.

And LOL to this

His appearance also drew ire from Joe Biden’s campaign spokesperson, Michael Tyler.

“Donald Trump showing up to hawk bootleg Off-Whites is the closest he’ll get to any Air Force Ones ever again for the rest of his life,” he said, referring to popular sneakers from brands Off-White and Nike.

There is something somewhat scary in that.

Lets say I want the answer to be "42%". Which online service gets that from 50k and 355M? ChatGPT?
Naw, I've never actually had one with wrong results, unless the user can't figure out how to punch numbers in

Hell...$355,000,000? No problem. I'll just sell $399 tennis shoes.

Just bringing additional tax money to the govt, another act of a great American.

This is a really good segment by Joy Reid on Trump. Something I didn't know Trump was on the KGB radar for over 40 years and he was encouraged to run for politics by a Russian asset in the US that owned a electronics store in NYC which sold Trump TV's for his new hotel property in the 80's.

There’s “reports “ that truckers are not going to deliver loads to NYC starting tomorrow in sympathy to the trump judgements.
Wonder if it’ll turn out like their border caravan?

While that will likely hurt American consumers short-term, if the truckers don’t get paid for delivering their loads…how will they make their truck payments? (and might they get sued by the companies who contracted them for delivery?)

To my understanding deliveries to NYC are already at the bottom of the list. Truckers feel they need a large premium to deal with the traffic hassle.

lol, want to give odds he pays any taxes on this grifting?

Better odds that he illegally claims his $355 million fine as a tax deduction, even though (1) fines/penalties aren't tax deductible, and (2) further not deductible as he and his businesses will pay none of it (he'll bill it to his donors/PACs).

I imagine those contracts are tough to enforce sort of like you can’t make an Actor act or force a Singer to sing.

Just wait till the real IRS audit he's been bitching about for years comes out.

Is there going to be a smattering of truckers who refuse to deliver to NY? Probably. But much like all previous Magat trucker events, it's going to be more of a fizzle than a sizzle.

Any trucker who refuses to deliver is going to lose money. Maybe not their job, assuming they don't do a long term refusal of work, but a long term vacation means long term lack of pay. If the truckers are independent contractors, no shipping company is going to hire out work to someone who constantly refuses jobs. They need reliable drivers. And for truckers who are employees, they might get away with calling in sick a day or two, or maybe take a vacation, but how long can that last before they get reprimanded and possibly fired?

I would never rule out criminality as a course of action for DJT, but I don't think even Citizens United lets PACs pay for civil fines. Besides, his PACs are drawing down their balances due to robust legal spending. They don't have $400M lying around to be held in an escrow account for 2 years.

POLITICO has a good explainer.

POLITICO - Can Trump pay? What if he doesn’t? Here’s what to know about Trump’s massive civil judgments.

NY could lose jobs with this decision, a lot of companies will be afraid to do business and will go to Louisiana and Florida...

If Manhattan becomes a ghost town, the Yankees in the Bronx will flee, and the Bronx is already poor already....

What should New York do when a business confesses in court to massive, pervasive fraud?

If you are a bot your algorithm needs upgrading. Where do you get this shit from?
