we all know we're imperfect and in need of salvation. simply accepting salvation is all that is necessary to turn ones life into what is good.
Be well all.
It depends on whose salvation you accept.
If you mean, do I accept the salvation of a Pagan god who requires some sort of self-debasing and self-devalument, acceptance of power that is obviously beyond my own feeble grasp, then no. I would die before I accepted that claptrap.
Do I acknowledge my imperfection to some other standard, of course. There is a God out there, but I doubt He holds us accountable for our inherent imperfection. There is a rhythm and order to life, to the universe - it is cold and unyielding, and yet, there is beauty to be found there. To say that we are free to act however we please - I would say, with certain restraints. To harm, to exterminate or to kill another, that, truly, is an abomination. Hitler and his men were acting against the will of the universe. One man who kills another, this, too, hurts the life that underlies our existence. War, war is perhaps the most painful of them all. Deemed necessary for further preservation, and to end current suffering, maybe, but still painful.
You ask me, where do I find God?
I find Him whenever I look at a sapling taking root in the wet earth; I see His face in every starlit sky. I feel His love every time I look into the face of a newborn baby. There is ugliness, pain and perversion everywhere on this barren rock we call Earth; however, beauty still persists, refuses to be held down. Throughout all pain and destruction, flowers still grow in scorched earth, babies are born in ruined homes; life is created from death.
All things end on this earth, that is the cycle of life, of our universe. The beauty of the soul, however, is immortal; that, my friend, will never die.
