Turbo LED on old case

I've got an old case with a 200W AT power supply. The case also has a turbo switch and turbo LED, and there is a black cable from the PSU to the turbo LED.

I want to disconnect the thick turbo cable cable from the LED, and possibly just cut it off the power supply completely - can I do this safely? Also, do I just pull it off, cause it connects in four places in a way I havn't seen anywhere else.
