TV/Console on your PC.

Here's my question: How/what do I get to play both TV/Console on your PC without the 2/5 second delay?

(Going to move and plan on using my PC as a TV to save space).


I had looked into it and got the WinTV-PVR 150. Turns out the PVR has a 3 second delay that was never mentioned in any of the material i had read. I'm now unsure what i should get, any help would be appreciated.

What console? If its a 360 you can get a VGA adapter. And if its the xbox you can get a modded bios and a vga adapter as well. And that will give you by far the best quality, and high def.

all tuners have some delay (which is irrelevant for tv but a big issue for gaming). You are better off getting a monitor which has the proper inputs for your console (probably component) and just using the tuner for tv usage.

The ATI all-in-wonder 9600Pro's drivers from three years ago don't have the delay. I forget the exact version number, but I think it might have been something like 4.2? Everything after that had the delay (or didn't even work). It's amazing how far their drivers regressed over the years!

Personally the solution I'd go with is a monitor that takes multiple inputs (DVI for PC, Component for console, S-Video for TV, or whatever each one uses). And then for audio you get a sound card with multiple inputs to hook them all up like a receiver. Or get a real receiver for that. Of course, buying new equipment is expensive so might not be an option.
