Im using the xfx 6600gt and have enabled the tv out. The tvs resolution and settings are set to 8bit colour -640x480 resolution...is there anyway to increase this? and the refresh rate is also stuck at 60 hertz
The 8-bit color should certainly be able to be changed. Once you enable the tv as your display, you should be able to change the device settings for it in nview display settings.
Is this is regular SD tv? If it is, it's only going to really be able to do a 480i image so 640x480 is probably going to look best on it. You should be able to change it to higher if you want to though. I think 60hz is correct for tvs too.
Regular TVs are all 60Hz (unless you live in Europe, in which case 50Hz). Analog TVs don't really have a resolution but in equivalent terms, 640x480 is the best it can do. Some PCs may be able to drive a higher tv-out resolution but in effective terms, 640x480 is all your regular TV can do and that's why you're 'stuck' with it.
It should go up to 1024x768x32@60Hz. That's what my 6800GT does anyway. Unless you have an HDTV, 640x480 really is enough. I just leave mine as it is because I only use it for video. Being able to send full screen video to the secondary display (TV) while it's minimized on my desktop is one of my favorite features.
I have a PowerColow Radeon 7000, i kno its a only card but it will have to do for now, I wonder can some one help me get the Tv-Out to work cause i enable it through hot keys but it hasnt works, also i tried enabline the tv screen but it doest, i tries through the ATi Control Center the regular Xp
