I have a Pinnicle Studi PCTV.\
The picture quality is fantastic.
The drivers sucks.
The tech support couldn't be worse if they Sh!t in a box and mailed it to me.

Somefolks are rumured to have made it work with XP.
Others have no luck.

I can't get it to work.

I am ready to buy a different card so I can have my TV again.
What is the best one that works in XP?

I've got a Hauppauge WinTV PCI on a BX6r2 w/Geforce2 (23.11 drivers) running XP and a HAuppauge WinTV Theater on a KA7-100 w/Geforce3 (23.11 drivers), also running XP. No problems. Hauppauge is pretty quick about fixing problems...

I have the same TV card and it's running fine in XP. What problems are you having?

I have two friends each with the Happuage and they really dislike how they can't full screen the tv. Is it just their computers or models or non of the Happuage cards can full screen?

I have no problem running at full screen. With the Hauppauge TV program, or with Power VCR, make sure they are using the right drivers/ most current drivers...

I have the Studio PCTV PCI card.
It ran OK in Win 98.
Ever since I installed WinXP it won't work.
I am using the latest driver.
I get sound, but no picture.

I have an ATi TV Wonder VE. Once it got working it's been a good card for 40$. The support, and software completely sucks. Was too much trouble to get working, and if I was buying another card wouldn't even consider ATi.

Double check your video settings and make sure you have NTSC as your video standard.

<< Careful, the WinTV stuff might not work with VIA chipsets. >>

My WinTV Theatre ran on both an MSi K7T pro2a and now, an Asus A7V133. Software and hardware wise.

Well if you go to their site, the VIA chipset compatibility is mentioned there. A friend of
mine who bought a WinTV Go experienced this problem firsthand when the drivers
refused to install on his Asus P3V4X.

I have the ATI TV Wonder VE, on Windows XP Pro. Don't get the ATI Wonder USB though.. it really sucks.

The drivers were a pain in the butt, as there are few instructions. The software has 6 different segments under the Device Manager, and it has to be installed in the right order.

There is also a bug that requires you to double click somewhere (anywhere) on the desktop immediately after launching TV or else the picture is distorted.

In spite of all this, I am satisfied with the card for $50. The software is stable- I can have TV on for hours and hours without a crash. It's not as good looking as a typical TV- my LCD monitor shows more of the fuzz in an analog TV signal that are regular TV will not show- and it's mono sound, but if you're into content instead of whiz-bang, it's a good alternative to a TV set. I live in a small apartment and have ditched my TV set. The space is appreciated.

first load "Dscaler" then load a program called "tv tuner" (5.19 is the version that my roommate uses)

dscaler will pull the awesome video while tv tuner will pull the sound. you can even change channels using tv tuner
