Tv wonder not capturing audio

Ever since I reformatted I am not able to capture audio with my tv tuner(I am using Virtual Dub to capture.) I can hear the audio when it is recording, but when it plays back it is silent. There are two things i suspect causing problems.

1) Virtual Dub lists 3 capture devices. Two of them my tv tuner and one of them just a blank space. My guess it that it is some how getting confused by this. I am pretty sure it only used to list one. I have tried uninstalling the ATI software/drivers and clearing Virtual Dub settings, but it still lists three.

2) I was previously using the ATI 2.0 Software and Drivers(I got lucky and found a place to download them off the net before.) I requested the drivers on cd from ATI twice and have not gotten anything yet.

So if any one could tell me how to fix problem 1 with out reinstalling windows it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if any one could provide a site where i can download ATI's new software it would be good. And any other suggestions on how to fix my problem would be great.

Double click on the speaker icon on the taskbar, options, properties, recording, OK, then check the input the TV Wonder is plugged into. Also check the volume on that line. That should fix it.

I'd say try reinstalling the drivers, but with ATI you can't just install drivers, you have to reinstall their software.

I couldn't get sound out of my TV Wonder at all in VirtualDub, I could see video but couldn't hear audio or record it. It worked fine in its own ATI software, but not in VirtualDub or another program called AVI_IO. Eventually I switched to a Hauppage WinTV+FM.

Thanks for the help guys. Mwink's solution worked. I made sure the play back volume was up, but neglected to set the record volume. Such a simple solution for what I thought would be a tough problem Thanks again for the help.
