Twitch Based?

Why are FPS games considered "twitch" based skill? Is it something people who suck at FPS games came up with? Sorry but I don't consider people with high eye/hand coordination "twitchers".

Yes all fps players have twitches in their hands they develop over time. I get made fun at skool cuz sometimes my hand starts spazzing out.

Being considered good at a "twitch" based skill isn't a bad thing. A twitch is most commonly a movement that is sharp and sudden, something a non-skilled gamer could even hope to have. Would I be offended if someone said I was a "twitcher"? Nope.

Heh, I lack those twitch skills. I usually spazz out if I'm playing a FPS and am suddenly confronted with the enemy at close quarters.

Those games do benefit from very quick movements. I too often try to ID a target, and watch it to see what it plans to do. By the time I decide to click, my character's already been gunned down.

Well I haven't tried it yet so I'm not really qualified to comment on it. But I hear its like Quake3. Quake3 wasn't really twitch based that much either. Quake3 CPMA on the other hand was. CPMA was the mod for Quake3 that brought the speed back to Quake1 levels. Some of the most competitive Quake3 gaming came from the CPMA mod also. Heres hoping there is a Quake4 CPMA.
