two html questions

1) is it better to name your pages ".html" or ".htm"?

2) I went to http://bannerkillers.cjb.net/ for codes that get rid of ads on web hosts..and I came upon freeserver's:

<style><!--iframe{display:none;}--></style>

what exactly does that do and will it have any effects on the main content of the page? for example, will it disallow me to have frames?

1) its the same. .html is better.

2)<style><!--iframe{display:none;}--></style> is applying iframe style to the page.

correct me if i'm wrong.

I don't think it matters for the first one, but I always use .html anyways.

As for the second, I don't think it does anything. Might disable iframes but I doubt it.

1) Doesn't matter...no difference whatsoever.

2) No, it shouldn't have any effect on the main page -- what it looks like it does is make the style iframe's display attribute be equal to &quot;none&quot; so that whatever iframe is won't show up. I assume iframe is the banner.

...but it looks like, from the other post, that I have no idea what I'm talking about.

as for the answers to the first question, will browsers under linux still be able to recognize .htm files? and similiar situations like that.

An floating frame I think. You can use it in tables and such. Don't think Netscape supports it.

yeah, it was being sporadic earlier..it was down and up and down again. but try again, it's working for me now.

btw, does anyone have other anti ad sites like this because this site isn't generating enough money from ad clicks and might shut down..ironic isn't it?
