Tyan Tiger MP with Athlon XPs

I was wondering if anybody has a system running with Dual XP processors instead of Dual MP processors. I wanted to know if you had to unlock the XPs to work in dual mode.

I'm planning to build a Dual CPU system for my video editing workstation, and I need to know if I can run Dual XP 1700+ CPUs without any unlocking or mods.

i haven't heard a single problem with XPs in MP mode. i have been maintaining this thread:

if there was a problem, i would have heard about it. why are you going to get a tyan tiger MP and the MPX will probably be out in a few weeks?

That's great news. I was not looking forward to unlocking a couple of CPUs.

I don't know when the MPX boards are going to be out, but I'm not planning to get one till the end of the month. Hopefully I the Gigabyte board will be out by then. If they are not out by then, I'll have to get the Tyan Tiger MP board, which will be a shame.

I think that the Gigabyte board is looking pretty sweet. Especically if you were to put a couple of Blue TT Volcano 7's to match the Blue PCB!

I'm running two XP 1600's on a Tyan Tiger MP w/o any problems whatsoever....one of the most stable setups I've ever had.
