If you have an account, you may want to change your password. I know a lot of people joined up when Far Cry: Blood Dragon was released.

Did anyone else get an e-mail from Ubisoft about it?

I got it but thought it was a phishing email. It's safe then?

Safety tip: Whenever you get an email from any kind of service, stating that you need to change your password for security reasons, don't click on any links in the email. Rather, manually enter the website URL in your address bar and change your password from there.

Of course, in most web browsers you can simply hover over the email links, and you can check the URL to see if it leads you to the actual site or not.

In this case, yeah, it's legit.

I am thoroughly pissed you even had to explain this

Ugh, I was hoping that my Ubisoft password was in my password database, which meant it was unique. You can probably tell by me making this post that it wasn't. So, I may need to go around and change a few of my passwords as they're a bit too close for comfort.

Why don't all "services" offer a simple option to "delete all account info". That should be some law. I grew tired of getting reminders about stuff I don't use anymore.

Its one reason I got so many email addresses. lol

I don't even know what my f'ing password was, so don't know if other sites with similar passwords to that one are at risk or not, of course I don't even know all the sites I'm signed up for! bank stuff, paypal, amazon, steam etc.. are safe so screw it.

I did hover over the link and the URL looked legit, but phishers are getting smarter.

Thanks for the thread guys. I too was cautious upon first seeing the email, so I tried going directly to the site, which was down the couple times I tried yesterday. Finally got it changed today. I think something like this happened last year, so I made sure to use a password I have never used before. I'll probably forget it by the time I go to their site again, but at least I don't have to worry about other log-ins being at risk.

I haven't received an email I wonder if that means I'm safe. Also, thankfully, I give every site a unique password no duplicates for me and I only have ONE game on uplay (farcry freebie). Still I'm getting annoyed at all these sites that cann't do the simplest things around security. This is yet another reason I'm sick of these publishers building their own distribution sites. They are just too dang buggy.

Random Keepass generated passwords for all my major accounts now. The lack of security in corporate America is just ridiculous anymore.

If you used gmail it will probably end up in your spam folder so check for it there.
