Well, Unity just completely flipped its shit.
I was bouncing between applications on several workspaces, and Unity "glitched" (for lack of a better term). I stopped being able to click on certain application windows, like they weren't even there. Oddly enough, other applications responded fine, and any new applications worked properly as well. But applications that I'd previously opened were stuck there, like Han Solo in carbonite. I tried logging out and logging back in, but I just got a blank screen with nothing on it. I had to reboot my VM to get back into Unity.
On a somewhat related note, I'm beginning to understand some of the Unity hate. Not only is it one of the slower graphical interfaces I've used, the launcher makes it difficult to manage windows I have open. In other DE's, I can configure the taskbar so that it only displays entries for the windows on that particular screen/workspace, but I haven't been able to find any such functionality within Unity.
