Well if you want mostly show and some go, that would be it. Yes it should work for just about any build, but the X2's have a shaky past, so you can decide. Like JEDIYoda says, do a google search and see for yourself. You can then make a more informed decision. For $100 I'd go with the Corsair hx520w PSU. It has a 5 yr. warranty and runs cooler and probably quieter than that X2. It has 40A on the 12V rails at 50C!!!!! Look below:

Corsair HX Series Features:
Supports the latest ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 standards and is backwards compatible with ATX12V 2.01 systems.
Guaranteed compatibility with dual-GPU configurations.
Double forward switching circuitry design offers high efficiency, up to 80% under wide load range.
Active Power Factor Correction with PF value=0.99 provides clean and reliable power to your system.
Universal AC input 90~264V automatically scans and detects the correct voltage. No more hassle of flipping that tiny red switch!
Ultra quiet 120mm double ball-bearing fan delivers excellent airflow at an exceptionally low noise level by varying the RPM in response to temperature.
Guaranteed to deliver rated specifications at 50ºC.
Triple 12V Rails provide independent reliable power to the CPU, video card and other components with a combined rating of 50A (40A on 520W) maximum! Advanced circuitry design that automatically enables power sharing between the triple +12V rails in an event of overload on any single +12V rail.
Powerful +5Vsb rail with 3A rating.
Over Current/Voltage/Power Protection, Under Voltage Protection, and Short Circuit Protection provide maximum safety for your critical system components.
105ºC rated industrial grade capacitors provide uncompromised performance and reliability, delivering 4 times the lifespan of conventional 85ºC rated capacitors.
Enhanced modular flexible cables enable easier cable routing and increased airflow in the system.
Gold Plated connectors provide oxide free ultra low-resistance contact between the power supply and your critical components.
8 Serial ATA connectors (4 on 520W).
Dimension: 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) X 5.9"(L)
150mm(W) x 86mm(H) x 150mm(L)
MTBF: 100,000 Hours
Safety Approvals: UL, CUL, CE, CB, FCC Class B, TÜV, CCC, C-tick.

Here's what the Ultra states:
It has 50A on the 12V rails and has a 3 yr. warranty.

Supports AMD and Intel Motherboards
NVIDIA® SLI? Ready
Low Acoustic Noise
120mm Fan
Meets ATX Version 2.2, v1.3, and
ATX 12V Version 2.2 Specifications
Short Circuit Protection
In-Rush Current Protection
Thermal Overload Cutoff Protection
MTBF > 100,000 Hours at Full Load,
110VAC and 25°C Ambient Condition
FCC and UL Recognized
50A on the 12V rails is nice, but it's at only 25C as noted above.

You can decide, but that is the direction that I'd go.

Erm, read the hardocp review. It's actually probably the worst 750w psu ever made...well one of them. Very sad this question is being asked without basic research.

Get an UltraX3. HardOCP reviewed it as well as other places. Excellent PSU.

i did do research, as the link i supplied from PCMODS has a link to the Hard OCP review, in which they ultimately reccommended it and gave it an award. As im not an electrical engineer, most of the amperages and volt readings, and pulse ripple stuff that is scrutinized now days sounds like Star Trek techno babble to me. i know my current PSU for my AMD Athlon XP is a 400W, and i have a Geforce FX 5900 powered by it.......so talking about building a new system with triple performance, it seems like i need ALOT more watts from a PSU, but thats apparently not the case. The Star Trek techno babble is apparently more important than total watts.
as for PSU's to buy, i already have the Corsair 520 listed down as a buy, however, i was looking at getting an ASUS p5k or an ABIT IP35, and according to the review done on this forum in the Motherboards section by Serpent Royal, the Corsair 520/620 has had problems in both the Asus and Abit boards, and he advised to stay away from those PSU's coupled with the IP35's. So thats why i asked. Sorry if i broke some type of rule about not answering my own question first.

You mean this.......

The Ultra X2 750w Extreme Edition presents bad build quality, bad voltage regulation, and could only deliver 364w of the advertised 750w of DC output in our testing environment. The Ultra X2 750w Extreme Edition is a lot of things, but one thing is certain, it is NOT a 750w power supply.

Maybe an award for the worst?

I didn't see any HardOCP link at FrozenCPU, but if they linked an Ultra that was recommended and awarded, it was the X3. NOT the X2. The X3 is a good unit. The X2 failed HardOCP's testing quite severely.

Huh?

I did not recommend or give an award to the unit.

Like Jon said I have done a bunch of Ultra units and they all should be read and evaluated separately.

your seeing things, there's nothing at FCPU that shows any award for an X2 unit, hell even the X3 units don't have awards from HardOCP.

Even their PSU editor (post above mine) doesn't know wtf your talking about

I picked up the 550 unit from TD after having bought an original X-Connect from them as well. It will be powering a mild rig (e2180, 2x HDs, 6800 PCIe) so the budget didn't allow anything over $60. The X2 750 wasn't designed well and it shows. Ultra needs to think long and hard on how to win back a buyers confidence at this point.

The 750W is design EXACTLY LIKE the 550W... which is it's big problem. I really have to wonder if someone getting a 750W over a 550W is really getting anything different.
