Ultra x3 powersupplies

i was looking into getting the ultra x3 600 watt powersupply for a new build
i was wondering if anyone had any expirience with them and if they are good quality
i like it because its about $100, fully modular and has an 8 pin PCIe connector

Not sure what your plans are with this PSU, but haven't read too many good reviews on Ultra PSU's. I'm not an expert, but if all of the Ultra's are built the same, than I wouldn't buy it. Anandtech reviewed a 400w PSU's here:

It's a very good psu, definitely recommended quality-wise. Ultras are not built all the same. This would be one to get.

There's no doubt the lower end Ultra's have burned a lot of people, and by doing so they've made it difficult for some people to trust them again. The X3's are some of the higher quality psu's available.

Yes this is true. I don't usually recommend them just because of the past. Doesn't mean they are bad, but just cautious with recommending them. Maybe this isn't fair, but when I read that there low end models don't do so well, I get a little cautious.

Hopefully you did some research on your PSU, so that you will feel comfortable with your decision. I know that I try to research every part that I buy, so I know that I didn't make a foolish decision. I'm sure your X3 600w PSU will do you fine. I recieved my x3 800w last week and i have to say im very impressed by it. if the 600w has the same quality its a very good psu.

Original ultra PSUs weren't all that great. Safe to say though they learned from that mistake and have much better units now
