Unable To Install OS

I formatted my hard drive and was doing a fresh install of XP Pro SP3. In the midst of the process I received an error message on the screen saying the file, chord.wav, could not be copied and that I should check that the CD was in the CD-ROM drive. It was, of course.
Never ran into this before. Anyone have any suggestions?

Clean the CD off or re-burn it if it's a CD-R.

It is a CD-R that I burned about a year ago when I slipstreamed SP3. I'm going to give it a cleaning and then try and install it from my second optical drive.

If you still have problems then try the install form your original XP disk. If you still run into a similar problem then there is a chance the HDD is currupted with failing sectors the formate didn't catch and remove from the dirrectory. But if you do a full format rather then a quick one it should pick up on that sort of thing and correct the issue.

BTW the Chord.wav is just an audio file. Just one of the system sounds you can choose from in the OS.

I figured I'd take the easy approach first, so I cleaned the disk. Lo and behold, it worked.
