Unclogging NEW Hp inkjet cartidges.

Anyone have luck doing this?

I have some expired 2010 color carts #23 and the yellow will not spray. I can suck out the full amount and put it back so I know its there. I also soaked them all night in 50% alcohol. No dice. I have a bunch of these I need to unclogg.

Sure it's not the printer firmware blocking you? Those are chipped carts, right? AFAIK, some HP printers will not let you print with out-of-date carts either.

This is older. I can;t get yellow out on a paper towel either. cyan/magenta blot out fine. Yellow is clogged for some reason. I have 5 that are like this only on the yellow.

It's hit or miss. I had one hp color cartridge that I refilled about 5 times, and then it just became too much effort to keep it flowing. Alcohol would usually get it flowing but it would be clogged again after a day of sitting idle. Bought a new cartridge and it was bad right out of the box.

I think part of the problem is the cleaning mechanism gets completely gunked up, or the squeegee is worn out and no longer does its job.

Anyway, I bought a samsung color laser on black friday for $89 shipped, and will never touch an inkjet again.

Although I do have a nice HP 4650dn laser, when it comes to high glossy photos, a laser cannot beat an inkjet. Everything else, yes.

I save the old skool inkjet for glossy photos. And it let me down...... Or I just stocked up too much on outdated carts.

I have heard that one can usually unclog an inkjet cartridge by rapping in a waterproof plastic bad, expelling all possible air inside the bag, and then dipping it in near boiling point water for a minute or so and maybe a time or a time or two.

It might work and what do you have to lose otherwise?

I had this problem with some older ink-jet cartridges, I did everything to try and un-clogg them, alcohol, warm water, high-pressure air, nothing worked. Then I decided to take one of the apart to try and find out what it looked like inside. It appeared as it was not clogged at all, no old or dried ink. For some reason it just didn't want to come out. I wonder if the manufacturers actually can do something to simply just make it stop dispensing ink. Or maybe it just get too old and worn somehow.

Unclog it ? Are you sure its not a chip restriction ?

If not, just warm some water (just like a soup) and put the cartridges in it, mix some acetone and GENTLY clean its head. lots of ink will come out, dont worry.

Do this 5x, always with warm water and the cartridge will be nice and clean.

I already do this for years on my HP bulk ink.

Remember, the water must be hot enough, but not LAVA mode.

The hot water trick will eventually work. I had to let mine soak ten minutes or so, two or three times. Here is the link to where I found the trick.
