under $400 camera recommendations

i am looking for a new digital camera and i'm willing to pay around $400. do any of you guys have recommendations for me?

I have to recommend the Canon Powershot s60.

Relatively Compact, Wideangle Lens, 5.0 MP, and Tons of Options and Features.

i guess the most important factor for me would be image quality. something with greater than 3x zoom would be nice too.

i'm not that concerned about size right now, but if there is a great camera that is also small, i wouldn't have any complaints

if possible, i would really like a camera that has support for the RAW format. there are some amazing things in photoshop that can be done with RAW images.

Panasonic FZ20. Explore all your options carefully. Lots of people here recommend Canon and nothing else, which I think, at least in this case, is a mistake. The FZ20 is a great camera with an amazing lens. If you don't care about size this is the way to go.

NP Tami, same price at Circuit City btw if you want it right now. Back to the thread though.... I would, if you can, find a Sony V1. For the price...it is hard...if not impossible to beat.

Get a used Olympus C-2100, affectionately known by its many rabid fans as the "UZI" (ultra zoom). The camera has a 10x optical zoom plus, most importantly, mechanical image stabilization. (Sadly, I'm not sure anyone makes a big zoom camera with a mechanical image stabilization anymore.)
