HAHAHAHAHA. OMG! You are one naive SOB. If any of those underage people at the party had any intelligence to begin with, they wouldn't even be there in the first place.

I wouldn't even trust Steven Hawking to be intelligent if he were a minor and drinking at a party. And you trust these people???! Words cannot describe how stupid you are.

Older people, am I right?

lol wtf is your problem. Just because somoeone is underage does not mean that they are not responsible or that they cant handle alcohol in a responsible manner.

Completely depends on the location...

Philadelphia - Not gonna happen. They have better things to do.
State College - Every weekend hundreds of underage kids are drinking at frat houses, the police know about it, and do nothing.
Local suburban town - Highly likely. The cops have nothing else to do but run traffic and bust parties.

QFT.

Here in Chicago (on the university grounds), UCPD sit outside frat parties all the time. They will only break them up if there becomes a dangerous situation (fighting, way to many people...).

The most you can do to prevent the cops from showing up in a suburban town is to give no reason for neighbors to call in for a noise disturbance and don't drink where you can be seen from the outside of the house.

My question would be : why are you throwing a party one of your housemates isn't comfortable throwing, isn't there anywhere else you could go?

Law are Laws for a reason... if you cant follow them feel free to make your citizenship somewhere else.
The only way underage individuals handle alcohol responsibly is to not drink it until you're 21.

LOL you are probably in the worst state for it. PA's laws are extremely strict. I am pretty sure he is still okay, even if he does get hit with something I am pretty sure he could argue he had no idea what was going on ... i mean he wasnt even there..

btw... dont suppose you are a penn stater?

Your friend would be in the clear if he's not present and had no idea who you were inviting.

You, OTOH, would be screwed.

A few of you seem confused. KarmaPolice isn't throwing the party.

Probably depends whos names are on the lease. Tell the guy that doesn't want this to happen to go elsewhere & be seen (alibi).

Just because u dont follow all the laws doesnt mean i dont deserve my citzenship. Thats like saying "If you dont go 55 on the highway, get the hell out of the country". Drinking at the age of say 20 with some friends without drinking to extreme excess is responsible drinking. The person who is drinking underage knows the risks involved.

You're right, how could we be so mistaken.

Oh, by the way, a purely hypothetical question - my "friend" has a few ounces of rock he wants to sling. Now, I don't support that illegal and immoral practice, but I was wondering if you might be able to help me determine its purity, weight, and best location for me- uh, "my friend" to sell it? Just hypothetically speaking out of theory, of course.

Your friend should be fine if he leaves and anything happens, as long as the house-mate is a legitimate "renter" there as well.

Also, I think he's in his right to tell the house-mate that he's against a party (especially a week long one!) I know back in my collegiate days, I didn't care if my apartment-mates had a party, as long as it didn't bother me. But a week long? I don't know if I would've cared for that much. For him to threaten calling the cops? It seems like he knows talking won't work at this point and he has to go to the extreme to get his point across.

I would say exactly the bolded part... if you cant follow the laws, either get elected to office and take part in the democracy to change them, or get the hell out.

If you're that desperate for alcohol, take all your friends and go to church, im sure you can get communion somewhere.

if you as an underage individual understand all the risks, and choose to drink alcohol anyways, then that is irresponsible. Responsibility is 5% thinking and 95% obedience to the laws, guidelines, & rules set to govern you from people who already have experience in matters which you do not.

Yeah, and even if you get busted it completely depends on the cop and his mood, usually in a college town the most they'll do is cite you for a noise violation. A big no no is having people milling outside, that is a sure way to get noticed.

I've had a couple parties busted (one at my place and a couple at friend's places) at college (off campus), the only time I've witnessed someone getting cited for underage drinking was when the kid decided to chug a beer after the cops told everyone to go home.

The best was having parties at a this one friend's place, he lived outside city limits so there were only state cops who would only really come out if there was a fire or something drastic.

Week-long party? Some spring fest thing?
