Need some suggestions on a nice remote for all my electronics.

I was going to pick up a Harmony One but I dont think I could pay that much for a remote.

Please let me know what your using and how you like it.

Thanks!

Logitech Harmony. It's worth every penny.

Now the $30k coffee table, now that I can't see paying for.

Using a harmony 520 and a 550. the 5 series is pretty no-frills in terms of coloured screens and the like, but still 'does everything'. If you have overly big hands, you won't like the number pad much. I've seen them as cheap as $50, and that's in Canada

Logitech Harmony. It's worth every penny.
+1 Logitech also makes it very easy to migrate to a different logitech remote and provides frequent updates for even old remotes. My 6 year old Harmony remote only needed a short software download to be able to control my new Bluray player

I have had a 676 and a 670.

Both worked well, but the 676 lasted about 2 years before the buttons crapped out. Googling showed this to be a common complaint. When I bought the 670 I bought a 3 year warranty for $18.

Still happy with the 550 going on 1 year. best remote I've ever owned.

My bro has the high-end one...Harmony One? also quite nice, with touchscreen and less "clicky" than the 550 (volume and channel buttons are somewhat annoyingly loud), but pretty much does the same stuff.

I got the 550 for $50 on sale at Best Buy lat year. This year's model should be found for near the same price, I'd imagine.

worth every penny.

I have a house full of Harmony 659's and a full set of backups thanks to Woot.

I love 'em.

My brother-in-law had a different model Harmony (800-something) that I hated. It died so I gave him one of my spares. Now we both are happier.

There is almost nothing that I do not love about the Harmony's.

Harmony 670 user here....When i switched over to the Harmony series, I felt like I chose a new religion. Really, this has been the best universal remote ever.

I have a Harmony 670 as well, great remote. My only complaint is that it eats batteries, I may have to switch to rechargeables.

There are some refurbished/open box Harmonies on Amazon that you can get. I got an 880 for a really good price.

As a remote guru, I'm going to disagree with everyone here and NOT recommend Harmony. Cheap hardware, limiting software, and they've actually taken out features (sequences, in particular) over the years. I can't support a company that literally removes features from their products.

The Universal line-up is aweosme. the R50 is under $100, and while not programmed on the computer, has a color screen and full support for macros/activities, just like the Harmony. The IR transmitter is MUCH more powerful than any Harmony, and offers better flexibility of pages on the screen. I don't see any reason to choose a Harmony over the R50. If you're looking for something a little higher-end, the MX-series of Universal is great, albeit the programming will take you a few hours. That said, the possibilities are endless, and investing a some time into it will give you a remote that is much more powerful and more importantly, reliable, than any Harmony model.

I just bought the lowest end harmony remote ($80) for my grandparents. Setup was easy, remote works perfectly controlling 5 devices. They are very happy with it. Would buy it again.

I have a Harmony 880 and while I love the concept and the way it works I now use it for little other than turning my equipment on/off. I have had it for 4 years now and it has not aged well. The buttons require an extreme amount of force to work and the charger has always been a joke. In addition the design of the thing makes it really difficult to use it one handed.

The Harmonies with the peanut shape, dedicated device buttons and non-cell-phone pads makes for good remotes.

I have a couple of 520's that I picked up refurbished last year for around $25.

Very nice remotes and worth every penny.
