I'm gonna cry.. I swear.. been building PC's for 5 years.. this is my own rig
Background: Dual Raptors in RAID-0 on Promise Fastrack S150 TX2 SATA RAID Card.
System: Soltek EQ3401
Ripped PCI card, hooked single Raptor to motherboard SATA header (I865PE chipset w/ ICH5 non-raid SATA Southbridge) and boot from CD rom
Windows goes through motions of loading drivers into memory, then it goes to Starting Windows (still light blue screen).. and the WHAM!
UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME
The BIOS sees the drives fine. It's windows that can't seem to initialize it so I get 'UNMOUNTABLE BOOT DEVICE'
In the BIOS you I have enabled under IDE Config
P/S-ATA: AUTO
S-ATA Running Enhanced Mode: YES
P-ATA Channel Selection: BOTH
S-ATA Ports Definitition P0-3rd /P1-4th
If I turn off the P/S-ATA then all I see is the Primary and Secondary "normal" IDE Ports
When I put it to AUTO it shows:
Primary IDE Master: ATAPI CD ROM
Primary IDE Slave: Not detected
Secondary IDE Master Not Detected
Secondary IDE Slave: Not Detetcted
Third IDE Master: HARD DISK (Raptor)
Fourth IDE Master: Not Detetcted
Boot Device Priority:
1. Lite-On DVD/CDRW
2. 3M-WDC WD360GD-00 (Raptor)
I have tried using Partion Expert. It sees the drive but when I try to wipe it or create a partition I get an error that it can't write to the sector.
What am I missing here? I made sure PCI BUS MASTERING is enabled as well.
No one else with tehse cubes needed to load a driver at the F6 prompt to get it to install, so I assume I don't either since it's not the ICH5R chipset.
I also flashed to the newest BIOS and reset the CMOS. Tried different cables and tried both my Raptors.
I'm so damn confused... any help is appreciated
