I made a mistake by using the Win98 bootdisk to see some stuff, ah doent matter, the thing is that im getting the dual boot menu like i have windows98 and win2000 installed and i wanna get rid of it!! get rid of win98! What can i do??
Open up System Properties. Click on the Advanced tab, followed by the Startup and Recovery button. Then selcet the OS you want to default to and uncheck "Display List of Operating Systems...."
Edit the boot.ini file in the root directory and remove the entry for Win98. Note: You will need to have explorer set to view protected operating system files.
just click start, choose run, type "notepad c:\boot.ini" from within win2k. delete the win98 line (be careful - a mess-up here can cause big headaches)
CTho9305's method will work. However, for future reference you can view the protected OS files by opening Explorer. Click on Tools->Folder Options. Then click on the View tab and uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System Files".
