Upcoming HD6000 review

i have a question - will anand be reviewing based on what AMD want (eg compare the 6850 to the GTX460 768) or will the review be based on how much each card can be bought for?

given that at least 2 ihv`s have released prices (£165 and £225 respectively for the 6850 and 6870) that puts the cards up against the 1 gig GTX460 and gtx470, rather than the 768 and 1 gig 460`s.


There are plenty of other active 6xxx threads where these questions can go.

i expect the review will include the regular spectrum of current gen cards. its not a low-end card to be compared to a GTS 430 or an HTPC card.

its just that , in the AMD slides they really are pushing for a comparison with the cheaper nvidia cards, which based on price (at least uk and euro prices) isnt the case.

We don't know the prices for sure yet. The official price band for Barts is $150-250 per AMD's slide: http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=30627800&postcount=746. See http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=30631499&postcount=901 for more details. Not sure about EU prices but you guys almost always pay more for all new cards.

Also, note that NV in its reviewer guides wanted only oc'd GTS 450s to be tested, and the comparison to be against the cheaper 5750s, and to bench FC2 which hardly anyone plays anymore and whose engine is not used for any new popular games, either.

sorry to `whine` - its just something i saw from the slides - and it really bothered me, which also made me think about all the reviews recently - look at the `amazing` card thats the GT430 for example.
