Upgrade Problems

I upgraded my comp from an epox 8KTA3 and athlon to a Abit AT7 MAX and Athlon XP2800+. It has Mushkin 512MB PC2800 RAM.
When I first upgraded the computer and installed the new mobo and processer, the comp worked fine. But I could not run the processer at 2.08Ghz, which I first thought was because the processor was not a 2800+, because it said on the processor "(c) 1999". So I called customer support and they confirmed that it was a 2800+. After I put the computer back together, nothing worked. It basically powered up, but nothing came on the screen. I was using the same video card (ELSA Gladiac Geforce2MX), and the monitor light turned from orange to green, but nothing came up.

Over the next few weeks, I was able to replace the mobo and processor with new ones from the company, but the computer still does not work.

I really have no idea what else I should do but any help is very much appreciated.

I'm not sure what a power on self test is but im pretty sure it's not doing anything really
I hear beeps when I put in a different processor (which I think is fryed, by the way)
I can't get into anything because I can't see anything.

Thanks for helping though

The Power-On Self-Test is the forst thing that the computer does, and it verifies that the computer has a CPU, Ram, and a Video card.

Usually a single beep from the system speaker indicates that all is (or at least should be) well. multiple beeps can be referenced to a failure code.

What is the wattage of your PSU? Does it have the ATX 2.03 additional 12V standby rails? (A Square connector with 2 yellow (+12V) and two Black (Ground) wires? just like the main PSU connector on the Mobo except only those 4 wires.

It is possible that the power supply could have dameged one of the other components as well
