I'm planning to upgrade my aging Radeon 7500 card, but I don't want to spend too much in that. I'm thinking about $100-150, and I'm trying to get myself an idea of performance by looking at Tom's HW Video card roundup at http://www17.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030714/vga_card_guide-12.html , since the graph includes some old cards and I can really see what the performance difference is going to be.
So if there are any guys out there who would like to share me some tips, here are the things I need to consider:
- I currently living in the US, but I'm returning to my home country on Dec 18th. That means, that I can only get good choices and prices for HW until that date (keep in mind the shipping time)
- My current system is an Athlon XP 1700+, 512 Ram, KT266A with 120GB HD.
- I mostly care about current games. Since there's still no confirmed date for new games like HL2 or Doom3, I'll base my choice according to today's games.
Which card and when should I get it? Some friends from US say that big sales start on Nov. 28th, so I'm wondering if that day should be a good one to order my card.
