UPS problem

I got a Back-UPS Pro 1400, and I was wondering if there is any way to communicate with it in smart-signalling mode, i.e. so that it will give me loads of info about it, not just the basics?

you need the serial cable to use it...

I was just in contact with APC tech support, it seems the Back-UPS 1400 does not support smart signalling mode Only the basics like sending a shutdown and reporting battery status. A shame for such a high-end model, and the expensive cable I got.
