URGENT URGENT help needed

I have had major problems when uninstalling WinME to Win98SE to fix a minor DVD glitch.

Windows won't boot AT ALL (even in safe mode, critical files corrupted blah, blah, blah)

So I have installed Win98SE on my oly other hdd (406mb), and now windows won't recognise my 13gb normal hdd as slave. It just ignores it's existance. How do I get windows to recognise my big drive? (both are seagate)

There probably could be several causes of this. For starters be sure that the jumpers on the drives themselves are configured properly as master or slave as appropriate for your setup. Also look carefully at the screen at initial startup to see if the drives are being recognized by the BIOS - the drives should be listed in succession as they are detected by the BIOS. Their parameters will be listed (type, manufacturer, primary or secondary, master or slave). It might be good to put any master drive at the end of the IDE ribbon cable instead of in the middle (if you are using a cable that can attach to two drives). Fix this basic stuff first.

All that shït is fine. I am running a cable select system, and all disks are detected.

In fact, if I run seagates dick wiz. it detects it no worries, just windows ignores it's existance.

I want to reinstall windows onto the disk, but I can't get past scandisk with all these stupid files, (all in the windows directory).

If I can get to windows I can forcably remove these files and directories, and keep important stuff (I am NOT formattng), then I can get past scandisk and install winodows

If you boot a Windows Boot Floppy, is the 13 GIG drive seen ? Could be time to FDISK and re-format.

I would be buying new HDD before I will be reformatting this.
