I have a Matsonic MS9307C+(USB) motherboard and an Apacer 3.5? USB digital card reader. The problem is that the pin assignments do not match up. I?ve discovered that you can remove the wires/terminals from the plastic lock of the header connector using a pin. I?m just worried about the ?fry your motherboard? warnings if the pin assignment is not set up correctly.
I?m assuming I can do the following:
Pin....Motherboard....Card Reader
1......USBPWR.........VCC
3......KEY................None
5......USBPP3-.........D0-
7......USBPP3+........D0+
9......GROUND.........GND
Pin....Motherboard....Card Reader
2......GROUND.........GND
4......USBPP4+........D1+
6......USBPP4-.........D1-
8......KEY................None
10....USBPWR.........VCC
Looks like I?ll have to do some ghetto modding & pull off a plastic lock from a case header to make this work.
Let me know if my assumptions are correct, I?ve never seen a KEY pin for a USB header before?I?ve seen 2 GROUNDs, and I just left one open & everything seemed to work fine.
