System info: Athlon 3400+ socket 754 with MSI K8N Neo Platinum motherboard using retail heatsink. 512mb x2 Kingston DDR400 ram, 160gb maxtor 7200rpm HD, 120gb Seagate 7200rpm HD, ATI AIW Radeon 9600xt video card, Sound Blaster Live Platinum 5.1 sound card. Seasonic 350w super silencer power supply.
I have been using this system since 1/25/05 with no issues whatsoever. On 3/15, i plugged in my Olympus C50 digital camera via a usb connector. At this time, my USB keyboard went dead, my PS2 mouse went dead and the computer froze. I let it sit for 10 minutes and then was forced to push the power button to reset. Upon reset, my USB keyboard was not initialized but my mouse and computer were working fine otherwise. I was unable to use any of my USB devices (dig camera, ATI Remote wonder, keyboard) I unplugged my keyboard and plugged it into another usb port, and it came up 'usb device not recognized'. I took it out and put it in another and it was recognized and began to work. within 5 min, it went dead again and did not work. I reset the computer again and then found that the dbracket showed four red LEDs indicating 'processor failure or not
enough power'. Computer has not booted since, I have tried clearing CMOS, tried different power suplies (up to 400w) and have unplugged all cards, drives, and ram from the board and still get the error. I have removed the processor and reseated it at least 3 times with no change. Any ideas? I'm guessing its a mobo issue and not a processor issue, but i could be wrong. PLEASE HELP!
