USB Wire Question

My GF picked up a Monster Cable Gold PLated usb cable for $29 at radio shack. After getting over my initial shock that a gold plated usb cable was ever purchased, the little fiend inside of me which always wants the best of anything on the market spoke up, trying to convince me that I should keep the absurdly expensive wire because it might give me higher quality pictures from my printer. However my rational side is telling me to return the stupid thing and get something for half the price which will serve me just fine. Any suggestions??

You photo prints will definitely have fuller bass and tighter, yet more airy treble if you keep the cable.

Definitely get something cheaper. But ofcourse I am cheap. USB cable at Staples is only around $10.

Monster cable is a bit of a Monstrous joke around here. Stuff like this doesn't help their image either.

They are the Bose of the cabling industry.

Its a USB cable - you are not going to get better pictures at all.
It MAY, possible speed up the connection between the printer and the computer by upto 0.5% haha

that's what I thought. Still, there is that evil side of me that just wants the best. But I'll bitch slap my greed. I'm off to staples right now for that $10 cord and to return the insanely expensive usb cord.

just cut some plugs off old usb cables, connect them with coathangers, test it all double blind and tell me you notice any difference whatsoever

no, the gold cable will make no difference.

Why is it that I find buying whatever connectors and using a breakout box of cat5 to make whatever cables I need so much fun?
