One more vote in favor of picking this up for those who haven't played it yet. Intense game, and it's got some of the most interesting NPCs from any of the PC RPGs in a long time.
The three different endings were a little "meh" and seemed just a bit rushed, but overall the game was fantastic. Nice stealth element, especially the one-shot stealth kills when you can sneak up right behind someone. You either get a nice, satisfying neck-cracking sound when you break the neck, or a fun "gong!" sound if you run them through with a sword. Admittedly, the AI can be incredibly stupid once your stealth hits a decent level.
Character development is really interesting and you can play through it very differently, with lots of ways to solve any given situation, either through force or talking.
Also loved the Haunted Hotel, it plays out as kind of like the aftermath of the hotel the Shining was set in. Non-spoiler hint: When you're crawling through an air duct and you hear a ghostly female voice whisper "be careful ..." you should listen.
