Verifying Windows 8 DVD

I have a burned Windows 8 DVD which I'm almost positive is the Windows 8 final retail upgrade that I bought and downloaded, but I wanted to double-check it. I know about checking the hash of ISO files, but the ISO that I created this DVD from is gone. How could I verify this DVD?

if you bought and downloaded the ISO from Microsoft via their Windows 8.1 Setupbox, then you have nothing to verify, it's genuine so...

The SHA1 hashes for all Windows 8 ISOs are available from MSDN. Click on the "Details" link to see the correct Windows 8 ISO file names and corresponding SHA1 hash numbers. A very concise tutorial on how to download/create an official Microsoft Windows 8/8.1 ISO image is available from EightForums. I prefer to use SlavaSoft's free HashCalc 2.02 for verifying download integrity. The checksum of your current DVD can be verifed with the free version of WinISO 5.3. First use WinISO to create an ISO image file of your current Windows 8 DVD and then use HashCalc to verify the integrity of the ISO image.

The Hash of a downloaded ISO though the Windows 8 Setupbox will NEVER match those listed on MSDN. Reason being is that ISO is a customized ISO which is downloaded for that particular user. Even though the contents may be the same because at the end of the day it's still a Windows 8 or 8.1 ISO from Microsoft, the hashes are unique, this has been discussed many times on MDL forums and that is why they do not allow ISOs which are downloaded from the Windows Setup Box to be shared since those are not general ISOs.

At the end of the day, if an ISO was attained via the Windows 8 setup box there is nothing to be verified. it's not like he downloaded it from a torrent or some shady program. It is the means of Microsoft distributing the installation media to customers who buy stuff from their online store.
