according to the spec, it's faster than qwest dsl. what do you guy think?

They've been running the special for a while - IIRC, it's $14.99/mo with a 1-year contract, and downstream is only 768Kbps. RoadRunner is offering 5Mbps/384Kbps for $29.95 (first 6 months), free self-install kit and no contract.

Good for surfing and as stated above, AOL and 56k converts, but it really BLOWS for gaming.

Saves money over AOL that is for sure

Nice price! Monthly charge for the basic phone service is close to $40. Total price is $55. For that price you could get a better deal with Voip + Cable Internet service + high reliability.

I wish they offered naked (unbundled) DSL. I'm already paying $80 / month for cell phones, and I don't need / can't afford a landline.

768kbps is kinda slow.
would get $15-16 yahoo dsl which is twice faster.

There are a number of 3rd party DSL providers out there (e.g. Covad), there might be some local DSL providers as well. Not sure if the cost will necessarily be the same, but it's "naked" nonetheless

Yahoo DSL is not available in all states, not in MD

verizon is only dsl offered in my area
adelphia offfers cable, but i wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole
they can barely keep the tv channels going
plus verizon, for now, still has unlimited newsgroup access
i have 1.5/750k line and it does great for games that i play

Unfortunately, FIOS doesn't exist in my world....I live in NH..lol
