I just opened a mailer from them.

1st month free
39.95/mo
$50 Linksys router rebate

Not as good as some of the old deals so if you have something better please LMK as I am looking for a better deal than my Earthlink current deal.

Yeah... I was waiting for weeks for my Verizon DSL order, only to have it cancelled with a very generic and uninformative email. I spent an hour on the phone and talked with people in four different departments (because, although each one had to spend several minutes "pulling up my information", none of them actually had access to any information, and promptly transferred me to another department with the same results). Finally got someone in "sales" who claimed that DSL was available to my area and it was a "capacity" issue that caused the cancellation, and thought it would be solved in two to four weeks. So, I reinstated the order under the hopes that eventually I may once again connect to the world.
Still though, as poor as the customer service is, it beats Charter's.

I'll be opting for the $29.99/mo. for six months, and then moving to the one-year $39.99/mo contract. Which, in my area, is a hot deal (Charter is up to $63/mo for the same up/down speed cable modem service).

I had Covad DSL, then Verizon bought them out.... their service was lousy... there was an outage every few weeks and the speed wasn't much better than dial up. I'm much happier with cable.

DRAKE! Almost the exxact same thing happened to me, i checked the status before I moved and its available in my area but every time i try to get DSL installed they tell me its a capacity issue too, that there isnt enough copper to give ME DSL or something straight from the technician's mouth after he climbed around behind the house for 20 minutes. I couldn't believe it. I've been stuck on dialup for almost a year now!

I had Verizon DSL in Temecula, Ca for two years so far never had any problem and I'm close to their CO so I sometimes get a full T1 bandwidth. Downside though for residential use they DHCP address.

Oddly enough I was doing research on Veriozn DSL as I'm getting it soon also...

Heres the best so far.

first month free
free modem rental
$39.95/month (this IS cheaper than $29.95/month for first three, and $49.95 there on)
$25 Mastercard Online Card
$50 MIR (from Staples)
1yr contract

Go through Staples online to find it. Or just do a search for "verizon" in Hot Deals and you'll find it. Looks like it was an $80 MIR rebate before...

Ok... Here's a better deal. Sign up through dell!

Here's the thread...

DELL Verizon Deal ($80 MIR)

Get $80 MIR from DELL
Get $25 Mastercard from Verizon
Get first month free
Get $29.95 for next five months ($50 afterwards, but switch to yearly $40 plan when that comes up)
Get free modem

Net cost for first six months, $150 - $105 = $45

I have Covad right now. It sucks. Like Charliebrown said, it disconnect now and then andslow spee like dialup.

I been doing research and called up Verizon asking about the deal 1st year free and $30s for 6 month. I asked them if I need contract and they say no. It sound weird to me. But I am still doing research and will ask them again if I choose them.

I wish they would notify existing customers of this. I have been waiting for some sort of deal or whatever that I could get in on. I've been a Verizon DSL customer for probably over a year now, paying $49.95 a month. I've been looking for a way to shave off a LITTLE of the price, and this may be the opportunity. Thank you.

Try swbc (southwestern bell company) there are offering dsl for 29.99 a month for 12 months, modem free if signed on for a year. Ask about there customer solutions package (which is the deluxe package 784kbps- 1.5mb downstream and 284 upstream) the 2nd year it will only go up to 34.99 a month for 12 months. plus they are rated as one of the best dsl service providers, check computer shopper mag. january 2003.

Gasp! Someone else from TEmecula!

There is no dsl where I live!

I swear I'd jump on that 6 months deal so fast if Verizon provided dsl. All I can get it Adelphia cable modem for 57.99 and that is WAY to expensive.
