Verizon Upgrade options?

Right now I'm on a family plan with my family (surprise surprise). There are 3 lines, and 3 smartphones. I'm on unlimited data and the other 2 are on 2gb limited plans. 700 mins shared and unlimited texting on all. The bill comes in just under $200. My current phone just died and I'm looking into a new phone. However I heard you lose unlimited data when you get a subsidized phone. What do you guys suggest? I looked into just switching to a family shared data plan but for 200 dollars you get 6gb. That's worse! But I also looked into buying a new phone off contract, like the SIII and it's over 600.

Buy a like new phone off of craigslist for $400, but realize that keeping unlimited data will cost you some serious dough in the long run.

Transfer your upgrade to one of the lines already on limited data.swap the phones back.

Can I transfer my upgrade to another line? My upgrade is in December, but the other 2 lines won't be able to upgrade for another year. So I can't upgrade one of the other phones and then switch it to mine. But it sounds like what you are saying is transfer the ability to upgrade to another line and then upgrade that one and then swap the phones.

You can do the transfer. My family has done it several times. Will be the best route.
