I'm posting this question here rather than General Hardware Forum as seems to be MB related.
When I start up my computer, it hangs with these colored vertical lines on my monitor and I can defeat this by re-starting and then
immediately hit the Insert key which seems to allow normal bootup.
My question is: What does this do to the CMOS settings after hitting the Insert key (defaults?) and what may be causing the problem
with the vertical lines?
A brief description of my set-up:
Win2000 Pro
Soyo P4S Dragon (SIS) 645
P4 1.8 512 L2 Cache .13 micron
IBM 40 GB 7200 rpm
Monitor Samsung 19" 950p
Leadtek GeForce 4 Ti 4400
768 DDR Ram
Thanks for your time,
olin
